Ella Brooks Ella Brooks 5'9" | OH Carmel | 2022 State IN , 5-10 OH, Team Indiana, Carmel
Maturity, high volleyball IQ, and six-rotation passing are three keys to Ella’s success. She’s been playing since roughly forever, and is a volley dork through and through. Regardless of score, this is a full-go, no-quit player who has been on winning rosters as long as I’ve known her. She has every shot in the book, is dependable on defense, and can alter a game from behind the service line.
Lizzie Bailey Lizzie Bailey 6'0" | OH Castle | 2022 State IN , 6-0 RS, Evansville United, Castle
Anyone need a big right side that takes up space on the block and can chip in a kill or two in the process? Look no further than Lizzie. Although her high school season was shortened a bit this past fall, she was still part of Castle’s first run to the 4A state championship match. Add that to her training at EU, and this is, when healthy, an absolute steal of a big in this class.
Corrina Porch-Maxey Corrina Porch-Maxey 5'9" | OH Ben Davis | 2022 State IN , 5-9 OH, Circle City, Ben Davis
Yet another stud of an athlete, Corrina has been neatly tucked away at BD on the west side of Indianapolis. The Giants aren’t known for their volleyball, but someone should have seen this girl play. She has a whip of an arm, jumps well, and is the spitfire three-rotation hitter that seems to be on every college team these days. Her training at Circle this spring should make her stock rise significantly, and I look forward to it.
Amaya Lowry Amaya Lowry 5'9" | RS Heritage Christian | 2022 State IN , 5-9 RS, Rev, Heritage Christian
Another stud of an athlete, Amaya put pace behind every ball she contacts, and is a physical right side that others should emulate. The ball just sounds different coming off of her hand, and her quickness gets to any set behind the setter well. Oh, and did I mention she has a state championship on her mantle from 2019? This is a winner, an athlete, and a gym rat all rolled into one. Should be fun watching her development this spring.
Reece Whitehead Reece Whitehead 5'10" | OH Columbus East | 2022 State IN , 5-10, OH, Circle City, Columbus East
I had the privilege of watching Reece in person a few months ago at Bloomington South. She is the pure definition of OH2, the six-rotation passer who is exceptional on defense and has every shot in the book. She captained her Olympians to an elite eight showing in the 4A state championship this past fall, and her four years of production has had her play multiple positions. She excels at them all, and it should only be a matter of time before this young lady finds a good fit for the fall.
