Pontiac held host to the Prep Dig Top 250 Expo on Saturday. The gym was oozing of talent. The 2024 class show up and showed out.

This 2024 class is chock full of versatile athletes. Several of these players not only showed some impressive offensive skills but proved to be some defensive dandies as well.

Here are some of the top pin attackers from the Prep Dig Top 250.

Cogan was an impressive attacker on the day. With a high reach, she’s able to swing with a variety of shots. She has a quick arm swing that helped a lot with not only running a fast tempo set but also when attacking out of system.

[player_tooltip player_id="110293" first="Mia" last="Eickholdt"] | 5’11 OH/OPP | Detroit Country Day/Michigan Elite

Eickholdt was one of the more vocal of the pins throughout the day. She showed to have a great court presence with her leadership. Comfortable hitting out of the back row and in the front, Eickholdt has a very nice snap on the ball and an ability to move her attacks around.

[player_tooltip player_id="153672" first="Audrey" last="Geer"] | 5’11 OH | Frankenmuth/Legacy

One of the top standouts amongst all pins in attendance on Saturday. Geer’s attack is almost picture perfect, a high flyer and high contact, she was tough to slow down. Her comfortability with going after out of system sets with heat was fun to watch. And that defense. With Geer on the court, it was like having two liberos in at once, rock solid.

[player_tooltip player_id="172197" first="Clara" last="Gyomory"] | 5’11 OPP | North Branch/NBVBC

Something to know about this player is that her swings pack a punch. i was impressed with Gyomory’s strength in her attack on Saturday. She has a wicked line shot and poses a formidable block on the right pin.

[player_tooltip player_id="153680" first="Rayna" last="Powers"] | 5’7 OH | Marysville/Michigan Elite

The smallest of attackers in the class, Powers’ play was big! Making up for her size, Powers has a very smooth approach and arm swing. She also boasts one of the best out of system attacks I saw on the day. While small, Powers is not one to mess with.

[player_tooltip player_id="172209" first="Karley" last="Pretzer"] | 5’8 OH | Dakota/Michigan Elite

Another pin on the smaller side. What Pretzer loses in height, she makes up with her hops. One of the springiest jumpers in the expo, she was flying! Pretzer’s impressive ability to get the height she does in the air feeds into her impressive range of shots when attacking the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id="172210" first="Katelynn" last="Rottman"] | 5’10 OH/MB | Lansing Christian/Michigan Elite

[caption id="attachment_170172" align="alignright" width="219"] [player_tooltip player_id="172211" first="Ava" last="Steinhebel"][/caption]

Put her on the left, put her in the middle, Rottman really did it all. One minute Rottman was banging away alongside her fellow pin hitters, then 6 on 6 came along and you saw her making imposing plays in the middle. Rottman showed to be a very versatile attacker and able to excel in any position.

[player_tooltip player_id="172211" first="Ava" last="Steinhebel"] | 5’11 OH | Edsel Ford/Legacy

Steinhebel was one of the more fascinating players to watch at Top 250. The lengthy outside boasts one of the most unorthodox swings and it was lethal! An almost straight armed swing from start to finish, Steinhebel delivered attacks with heat. Another high flyer, with such a high reach, Steinhebel was a hard attacker to defend during 6 on 6 action.
