SKEVA 16 Blue Players to Watch

<p>SKEVA 16 Blue has lots of young talent on their squad! Here’s some players to highlight. </p> <p><strong>Chaney Barrow-</strong> From Logan County High School, Chaney Barrow shows great promise from the setting and defensive specialist position. Barrow is just a freshman and playing up on the 16s because of her skill level but also her determined attitude. She’s a coachable kid that strives to get better on the floor and off. One of her previous coaches, Lexie Holloway, always talks to me about her love of the game and how she’s just a fun kid to watch. Barrow will be a big piece of this puzzle for SKEVA 16 Blue! </p> <p><strong>Halleigh House-</strong> Sophomore defensive specialist and outside hitter from Greenwood High School, Halleigh House will be a huge impact for the team! House is a 5’8 hitter that has gradually been playing more in the back row. She’s very good at being open to hit out of the pipe (middle back) and constantly stays involved in every play.</p> <p><strong>Morgan Trevor-</strong> Another athlete from Greenwood High school, Morgan Trevor shows great promise as a potential hitter. Trevor has the ability to rise up and effortlessly hit a ball from any position. She played for the freshmen, junior varsity, and varsity teams at Greenwood High School and impacted every squad because of her volleyball knowledge and willingness to learn. On the varsity squad, she hit middle and worked very hard in transition to block and hit effectively. </p> <p><strong>Addi McEwing-</strong> A 6 foot one sophomore middle attacker from Greenwood High School, Addi McEwing started for the Lady Gators and quickly became a stud for the team. McEwing almost came out of nowhere this year where she became a huge offensive threat and couldn’t be stopped. She tallied 120 kills and the team high of 54 blocks. McEwing is a young player that has tons of potential because of her defensive ability to go get a block when the team needs it the most. </p> <p><strong>Abby Davis-</strong> This sophomore setter, Abby Davis, played on SKEVA’s 15 Blue team last year and was one of the keys to their squad. Davis was very athletic and made every pass look better on the floor. A special part about amazing setters is their talent to make everyone else look good, and Abby Davis definitely falls into this category. She is able to run down the one passes and turn them into great out of system balls to the outside as well as being able to do her job with a perfect pass. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="107403" first="Whitney" last="Christian"]-</strong> The last player to highlight is Logan County High School’s [player_tooltip player_id="107403" first="Whitney" last="Christian"]. She was a middle hitter for The Lady Cougars and impacted the team offensively and defensively with 116 kills and 35 blocks on the year. Christian is a player that will swing for the fences even with a double block because of her fearless and competitive nature. It’ll be fun to see this offensive player with a combination of all their other athletes too! </p>
