Here is a breakdown of our championship-winning teams from last weekend.
17/18 Division: FC Elite 16 Navy
This FC Elite team is going to be incredible this year. They took down some of the top 17s and 18s teams in the state to win this division. They are gritty and very talented. Setters Emerson Van Lannen Emerson Van Lannen 5'10" | S Appleton North | 2024 State #144 Nation WI and Kamryn Kaminski Kamryn Kaminski 5'7" | S Howards Grove | 2024 State WI both have great hands and move the ball around efficiently. They make smart decisions and utilize all of their hitters.
The offense on this team is smart and powerful. Annalise Patchett Annalise Patchett 6'0" | OH Fox Valley Lutheran | 2024 State WI played 6-rotations and was an offensive weapon everywhere on the court. She also plays solid defense and has a lot of control on serve receive. Peyton Carlson is in the class of 2026 and is playing up two age divisions. Watching her play on the outside though, you would never know she is only in 8th grade. On the right-side Madison York Madison York 6'1" | RS Manitowoc Lincoln | 2024 State WI was a breakout athlete. She put up a steady block and had some powerful swings as well.
This team is also very gritty defensively. Olivia Baierl Olivia Baierl 5'8" | DS/L Howards Grove | 2024 State WI and Elle Kennedy Elle Kennedy 5'5" | DS/L Howards Grove | 2024 State WI run the back row for this FC Elite team. Both are very talented out of both middle and left-back and make huge plays on defense and serve receive.
16 Open Division: FC Elite 16 White
This FC Elite team developed and grew during every match they played. Setter Mariah Potter Mariah Potter 5'9" | S Xavier | 2024 State WI is an energizer on the court who utilizes her pins well. Grace Fruzen Grace Fruzen 5'8" | S Manitowoc Lincoln | 2024 State WI also set for FC Elite and has clean hands and a good touch on the ball.
Middle blockers Lauren Fischer Lauren Fischer 6'1" | MB St. Marys Catholic Neenah | 2024 State WI and Olivia Neumann Olivia Neumann 6'3" | MB Xavier | 2024 State WI both stand at 6’2” and have a huge presence at the net. They were both impactful as blockers throughout the tournament. Laurin Hamann Laurin Hamann 5'8" | DS/L Manitowoc Lincoln | 2024 State WI was a force to be reckoned with in the back row. She showed strength on serve receive and defense.
This team also has a strong set of pins. Addison Albrecht Addison Albrecht 5'10" | OH Kaukauna | 2024 State WI is a reliable pin who can make plays when you need her to. She can play all six rotations and is constantly building in her ability on the court. Hannah Greisen Hannah Greisen OH Notre Dame Academy | 2024 State WI is another athlete who knows how to make plays on the court. She manufactured points for her team and was a key player in their championship win.
16 Club Division: Elite Alliance 16-1
This Elite Alliance team was fun to watch because they were scrappy and they played well as a cohesive unit. Every play had athletes covering each other and helping each other out. Setter Kinlee Grattan was a huge asset to this team. She set in all six rotations and was a leader on every point. Kinlee has great hands and a gritty attitude on the court. Middle hitter Izzy Jahr was a powerful athlete for this team. She had great swings and earned a lot of points on her team’s road to the championship. Gracey Kline was the libero for Elite Alliance and she covered the backcourt very well. She got great touches on balls that came over the net and kept the ball alive.

15 Open Division: Sting 15 White
Sting played very well throughout the weekend. Six rotation outside hitter Paige Boettcher Paige Boettcher 5'8" | OH Germantown | 2025 State WI manufactured a lot of kills for this team and was strong on defense, from the service line, and on serve receive as well. Paige is a great 6-rotation athlete who brought consistency and power to the pin. Setter Madelyn Marquardt Madelyn Marquardt 5'8" | S Kewaskum | 2025 State WI was quick and had clean hands. Both Madelyn and Sting’s other setter Kaitlyn Connors Kaitlyn Connors 5'10" | S Oconomowoc | 2025 State WI have a lot of potential to be leaders on this talented team. In the back row, Ellie Bruns Ellie Bruns 5'5" | DS/L Menomonee Falls | 2025 State WI , who played both libero and DS throughout the weekend, lead the charge. She was fast, scrappy, and picked up a lot of tough balls. This team has had early-season success and will only continue to grow as the season builds.
15 Club Division: Wisconsin Premier 15 Teal
This Wisconsin Premier team has an insane amount of potential. They have size and power in the front row and setters who move the ball around cleanly and efficiently. Pin hitter Kylee Altendorf Kylee Altendorf 5'10" | OH West Bend West | 2025 State WI has a huge vertical and a high swing and snap on the ball. She is a go-to hitter on this team and earns a lot of points. Setter Madelyn Abel Madelyn Abel 5'9" | S West Bend West | 2025 State WI has fast hands and a quick release. She is very precise with her sets and is hard to read. Madelyn also has a very aggressive serve and is quick on defense as well.
Fellow setter Callaghan Daute has soft hands and a lot of power. She sees the court and executes well on her sets. Pin hitter Elise VanHimbergen has a very aggressive and consistent serve. She carries that confidence into the front row as well and makes great plays. She utilizes shots and power to earn points.
