Sometimes I wonder if Macaria would have shot up the prospect ladder if she had not moved to Texas. Macaria played in Virginia for Flint Hill her frosh and sophomore years in high school. Even as a frosh she dominated leading Flint Hill to two VISAA state championships in the two years she played for them.
For Metro she played with Emerson Sellman. The two played left side and made Metro the favorite of college coaches to watch when they played at 16.
Macaria immediately appeared as our number one prospect in the class of 2025 when she moved to Virginia. After two years of playing here she moved to Texas. The National ranking publications for club players started noticing her and she shot up the rankings from the bottom 100 into the top ten. Playing for Prestonwood Christian helped with that ascent.
Sometimes I wonder if Macaria would have received the same amount of national attention had she stayed in Virginia. She certainly was one of the more athletic players on the court, having a father who played in the NFL and a mother who played professional basketball. Now she will be playing for the powerhouse Texas Longhorns.
Who knows, if she had stayed in Virginia perhaps she would have committed to UMBC.

at the pins, TAV will have no shortage of talent and will be formidable opponents to anyone. Spears is playing one age group up and still dominates, which speaks volumes about the level of her game and her confidence on the court. Her power and athleticism put her in a class of her own offensively and she is also very versatile, swinging from the left and the right with great efficiency. Throw in impressive technical skills and an excellent understanding of the game and here’s the formula for Spears’ impressive success.

The undisputed #1 in our rankings. Was there any doubt?
Teams that face Spears have to deal with those “roll the ball under the net” moments: when a team does everything right but still get burned by an incredible individual play. We saw that game-changing power from Spears when she competed with Metro, and now she’s brought her extraordinary arm to TAV in the Lone Star State. Our top-ranked player in the 2025 class put on a show when I visited the Show Me Qualifier. It was then that I fully realized Spears was on another level.

The top prospect in Texas according to our Class of 2025 Prep Dig State Rankings, Spears is playing one age group up this season with TAV 17 Black. Only an athletic freak like her could do it and not only play among older players, but actually dominate them. Spears is very athletic and that shows in every aspect of her game with how quickly, strongly and efficiently she performs every action on the court. Besides the physical tools, she’s also very technical and has an extremely high volleyball IQ, having truly the whole package when it comes to being an elite pin hitter.

Spears became one of the most talked-about players in the state of Texas after she transferred from Virginia. She led her high school team Prestonwood Christian to the title at the TAPPS league and is making a similar impact at the club level, playing one age group up with TAV 17 Black – which will compete in the 17 Open division. Spears is an absolute beast at the net as she can score from anywhere, with any set, and is also a formidable blocker, who uses her size and length in the best possible way to put pressure on opponents. She made it to our Class of 2025 Prep Dig State Rankings and was immediately allocated in the top spot.
