Top Wisconsin Players At Badger Team Camp

Badger Team Camp has become one of the elite camps in the upper midwest to bring your team with top players from multiple states coming together to compete for a weekend with a blend of training and competition. We will have two parts of this consisting of the top players and also some new names that really stepped up this past weekend.

Maddie Koch - Ashwaubenon - Senior Outside Hitter

Committed To Purdue

Koch definitely was able to show her physical presence and will be a key go to for the Jaguars who are definitely on the rise this season. The combination of Koch and Maddie Crowley are going to be a force in Northeast Wisconsin. Koch will be scoring points from the outside and in the backrow with her back court offensive and defensive game really developing in the past year. The Jaguars were in the final eight with a win in the first round over Buffalo Grove (IL) before falling to Kettle Moraine Lutheran.

Ari Miller for KML so dynamic and athletic out of the middle, she has committed to @MKE_Volleyball pic.x.com/z5B92PdP3j
— Prep Dig Wisconsin (@PrepDigWI) July 15, 2018

Ari Miller - Kettle Moraine Lutheran - Senior Middle Blocker

Committed To UW Milwaukee

Miller keeps on climbing up in the Class of 2019 and may be one of the top middle blockers to come out of Wisconsin in her class. Extremely quick from pin to pin, she is always there to read the offense and close the block. Offensively, she is so dynamic off one foot and has the ability to terminate with a strong swing or a power tip to the open spot. Each time I’ve seen Miller play, she get’s better. KML was strong is 2017 and will be again in 2018 with Miller in the middle as well as Gianna Feld and Elizabeth Truckenbrod.

Laura Shoopman - Westosha Central - Senior Right Side

Committed to Oral Roberts

One of the more entertaining scrimmage matches was between Westosha Central and Champlin Park (MN). Champlin Park is loaded with Division 1 talent and Westosha Central was extremely competitive with them behind Shoopman, Sierra Lee, and Kennedy Muff. Shoopman has a heavy swing from the right side with the ability to hit high hands or just power through, extremely tough to stop. Shoopman also has the skills out of the backcourt and great hands as well.

Emily Bruckschen - Howards Grove - Junior Outside Hitter

Uncommitted

Howards Grove has a team where hardly any of them are old enough to drive. Bruckschen will be one of the veterans this year after having a breakout Sophomore season. On the outside, Bruckschen is a point scoring machine with an explosive attack and a mix of shots. Howards Grove was able to finish second in their pool and advance to the round of 16 with Bruckschen being a huge part of that. Look for Bruckschen to be a leader for the Tigers as they make a push to get back to the Resch this season.

Elise Schneider - Arrowhead - Junior Outside/Right Side Hitter

Committed to Wofford

Schneider just recently committed to Wofford, an NCAA Division 1 school in Spartanburg, South Carolina. With an injury to Notre Dame recruit, Aubrey Hamilton, Schneider became the go to for Arrowhead who advanced to the elite eight at camp. Schneider is incredibly strong and athletic with the ability to play on either pin. On the right side she puts up a block that is tough to get around for the offense, but is also capable of hitting a mix of shots offensively that will score points in a hurry.

Kayla Lass - Stevens Point (SPASH) - Senior Outside Hitter

Committed To Green Bay

Lass can do it all. The six rotation outside hitter could play any position on the court, but her vertical is ridiculous. She skies to the ball and can hit a shot anywhere on the court. SPASH is full of athletes along with eight seniors that will look to make a push in their conference and towards sectionals. Lass will be depended upon to score points and hold down the backrow.

Dru Kuck - Sheboygan North - Senior Libero

Committed to Wisconsin

Kuck is fierce on the court. A libero heading to play for the Badgers next year, her role may look a little different this year. At 5’8, that may not be ideal for an outside hitter, but Kuck may find herself swinging from the pin. With her athleticism and volleyball IQ that won’t be a problem. She will have to do a little bit of everything this year in her Senior campaign for the Golden Raiders to make a push for the FRCC title and a return trip to sectionals.

Alyse Drifka - Slinger - Junior Setter

Uncommitted

Schneider was on the Milwaukee Sting 16 Gold team with setter Kaley Blake of Burlington. Drifka is so smooth on the court with great feet and a smooth release on the ball. Slinger will have some solid new talent coming up and Drifka may find herself setting or hitting this season for the Owls.

Lily Welti - Middleton - Senior Outside Hitter

Committed to St. Louis

Welti has been a name in the Middleton program for years, starting with her sister Logan who is currently playing volleyball at New Hampshire. Lily will be entering her Senior year for the Cardinals who will be one of the top teams in the Madison area. At 5’9, Welti brings an aggressive approach to all facets of her game. She can jump out of the gym and put the hammer down while also having the quickness to hit an uptempo set.
