Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
Premier Nebraska has no shortage of 2026 stock risers in its gym. Freeland has excelled on some of club volleyball’s biggest stages, from Triple Crown NIT to the Windy City Qualifier. This Gretna East junior has made major strides as an opposite while also boasting the flexibility to play in the middle. Freeland wields her explosive approach to produce cross-court heat and is an excellent wing blocker. Premier Nebraska 17 Black will pivot toward USAV Nationals to put even more stock risers on the board.

Our scouting report on Freeland has transformed in the past several weeks. We knew about her game-changing ability as a middle blocker, but Freeland brings a lot more positional range to Premier 16 Red’s frontcourt. She takes critical sideout swings on the left side and also brings an extensive background on the right. That covers all three positions along the net, so Freeland’s designated position is open to interpretation. Either way, this Elkhorn standout has taken a big step forward on the outside this year.

Add one more to the Premier Nebraska count. Freeland is another one of those multi-talented hitters who can slot into the middle or on the pin. Her production doesn’t waver no matter what role she’s in, and 16 Red takes full advantage of this. Elkhorn High School has a leader for the future, but Freeland currently has unfinished business in the 2024 club season.

Freeland represents the next wave of talent coming through Elkhorn High School, and her 2023 prep tenure allowed her to shine at a couple of positions. Her influence at Premier Nebraska has been primarily at the middle blocker spot, and that might materialize again with 16 Red next year. But, as we know, no lineups are set in stone early on. We won’t rule out seeing Freeland on the right side, where she is more than capable of taking some tough out-of-system swings.

Opportunities abound for Premier 15 Red’s athletes to assert themselves among their 2026 peers. Freeland is one of the team’s representatives that we’ll be watching, and the Elkhorn middle blocker has been finding more and more ways to contribute in the lineup. If 15 Red has ample chances to get Freeland some attempts, that bodes well for the team’s chances to clinch a bid.
