<p>The first week of play is in the books. New leaders have stepped up and young rock stars are showing their stuff. Prep Dig got their first peek at the class of 2022 finding their places among the upperclassmen. Here is a quick look at what has happened the week of August 20<sup>th</sup>-26<sup>th</sup>. </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="10260" first="Keri" last="Walker"] – </strong>2019 – 6’1 – Middle Blocker/Setter – Living Word Lutheran – Not Committed</p>
<p>Walker hit an impressive .474 for Living Word Lutheran helping them to go 3-2 at the Milwaukee Lutheran Tournament on Saturday, August 25<sup>th</sup>.</p>
<p><strong>McKenna Wucherer</strong> – 2022 – 6’1 – Outside Hitter – Brookfield Central – Committed to Minnesota</p>
<p>Wucherer wasted no time making her presence known while tallying 116 kills in the first week of play. She led Brookfield Central to finish 2-0 at the Homestead Triangular on Tuesday, August 21st. Wucherer got a career high 24 kills against Menomonee Falls while helping her team take 10<sup>th</sup> place at the prestigious Joust Tournament.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="10222" first="Maddie" last="Koch"] – </strong>2019 – 6’2 – Outside Hitter – Ashwaubenon – Committed to Purdue</p>
<p>Koch is averaging over 5 kills per set after leading Ashwaubenon to go 3-2 in the Battle of the Valley on Tuesday, August 21<sup>st</sup>. Koch had a season high 15 kills in their 2-0 win over Xavier.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="56020" first="Isabelle" last="Schauer"] – </strong>2020 - 5’7 – Setter – Watertown – Not Committed</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="33055" first="Sheridan" last="Dettman"]n – </strong>2019 – 5’6 – Libero – Watertown – Not Committed</p>
<p>Schauer tallied 296 assists in the first week for Watertown while leading them in their 3-2 finish at the Early Bird Invite on Tuesday, August 21<sup>st</sup>. Schauer recorded a season high 36 assists in their 3-0 win over Milton on Thursday, August 23<sup>rd</sup>. Watertown went 8-0 while competing in the Sun Prairie Cardinal Invite on Friday, August 24<sup>th</sup>-Saturday, August 25<sup>th</sup>. Dettmann has anchored the defense with 171 digs, with a season high of 19 digs in their 0-2 loss to Arrowhead at the Early Bird Invite.</p>
<p><strong>McKenna Scharnek</strong> – 2021 – Right Side/Setter – Waukesha West – Not Committed</p>
<p>Scharnek recorded 23 aces in this first week of play while helping Waukesha West to a 7-3 season start, including a 3-1 win over Menomonee Falls on Tuesday, August 21<sup>st</sup>, going 3-0 at the Nathan Hale Quad on Wednesday, August 22<sup>nd</sup>, and placing 7<sup>th</sup> at the Joust.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="32734" first="Brianna" last="Merkel"] </strong>– 2019 – 5’11 – Setter/Outside Hitter – Franklin – Committed to Western Illinois</p>
<p>Merkel tallied 23 aces, with a season high of 6 aces against Hartford. Merkel led Franklin to an 8-3 start, including a 2-2 finish at the Burlington Invite and a 6-1 record at the Warhawk Open on Friday, August 24<sup>th</sup>-Saturday, August 25<sup>th</sup>. Merkel also led her team with 58 kills.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="80161" first="Maddi" last="Kealy"]</strong> – 2020 – 5’10 – Setter – River Falls – Not Committed</p>
<p>Kealy is averaging almost 2 aces per set and has stepped into a BIG role for River Falls, leading them with 78 assists in their 10-0 start to their season. Kealy’s team started out strong at the St. Croix Central Quad on Tuesday, August 21<sup>st</sup> and kept going strong through the Stout Sprawl on Friday, August 24<sup>th</sup>-Saturday, August 25<sup>th</sup>.</p>
<p><strong>Shayley Narges – </strong>2020 – 5’10 – Middle Blocker – Campbellsport – Not Committed</p>
<p>Narges tallied 39 total blocks while competing with Campbellsport at the Chaos at the Kolf at UW-Oshkosh. She recorded a season high of 12 blocks in their 0-2 loss to Bay Port. Narges has also contributed 17 kills so far, while averaging 3 blocks per set.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="33077" first="Taylor" last="Ohm"] – </strong>2019 – 5’7 – Libero – Hartford – Not Committed</p>
<p>Ohm is averaging over 6 digs per set and helped lead Hartford to a 3-1 finish at the Burlington Invite and later a 3-2 finish at the Hartford Union Tournament on Saturday, August 25<sup>th</sup>. She had a season high 29 digs in their 2-1 win over Jefferson.</p>
