This week, the first edition of the 2025 Player Rankingswere released.

The group includes a total of 30 players from around the state and is a tremendous class when it comes to future potential.

Here's a dive into our ranked middles in this initial list.

1. [player_tooltip player_id='156299' first='Olivia' last='Grenadier'], Country Day/Legacy

Grenadier is a really talented middle with a very high ceiling. She really made a name for herself this past club season, playing as well as anyone in the nation in the class. Now, she's stepping into a lead role with DCD and showing a high finishing rate at the varsity level.

2. [player_tooltip player_id='156307' first='Shelby' last='Ignash'], Cass City/Michigan Elite

Ignash is far ahead of most sophomore hitters. She's got great footwork and athleticism at the position. She delivers a technically sound swing and is able to find the right angles to score points.

3. [player_tooltip player_id='156334' first='Ella' last='Taatjes'], East Grand Rapids/MVA

Taatjes is a very active middle, which helps her make up for not having the length of some of her peers. She's constantly in the mix to make plays offensively and defensively. Her competitiveness is going to take her a long way.

4. [player_tooltip player_id='156340' first='Addison' last='Williams'], South Lyon East/Legacy

Williams adapts well to her setter and is able to score with a variety of arm angles and swing speeds. She's got the intangibles to be great and is only going to get better as she grows in confidence.

5. [player_tooltip player_id='224599' first='Avery' last='Powers'], Coopersville/MVA

Powers has some really good power on her attacks. She makes an effortless swing, but the ball comes at the defense fast. She's also really smooth with her timing on her block attempts.

6. [player_tooltip player_id='156301' first='Elyse' last='Heffner'], TC Central/FaR Out

Heffner has nice lift off the floor for her size, which makes her attacks very difficult to stop. She's good at spreading her attacks around the court and not letting herself become predictable.
