Class of 2024 All-State Nominations – Setters Vol 1

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The 2022 High School season has been amazing so far!&nbsp; Along with our readers, we have been on pins and needles watching teams battle all season long.&nbsp; There have been some amazing tournaments and great district battles.&nbsp; We have been talking to coaches, reading tons of stats, and getting lots of video submissions from parents and players regarding how everyone has fared over the course of the season.&nbsp; As we are now into the playoffs, we will be discussing some players who are being nominated for our Prep Dig Texas All-State Awards.&nbsp; Our end-of-season awards are going to be different because we are going to consider all divisions/conferences together and pick the best of the best.&nbsp; The Setters we will be discussing have been tearing it up and proving themselves all season long with some amazing statistics.&nbsp; Let's meet some of the nominees:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://prepdig.com/player/alyssa-manitzas/"></a></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='124128' first='Savannah' last='Skopal']&nbsp;[2024] 6-0 Setter (HS: Rouse/Club: Austin Juniors/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Miss Skopal is currently ranked as the 6^th&nbsp;best overall player and the top setter in the 2024 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.&nbsp; She plays at Rouse HS and also club for Austin Juniors. &nbsp;We have profiled her numerous times and the last article stated, “<em>She is highly touted by every major publication across the state and country.&nbsp; Every work that is written about her doesn't even do her justice with how fundamentally sound her technique is.&nbsp; She can thread a needle from any location on the court with speed or height.&nbsp; Her work ethic in the setting position is unmatched and it is paying off dividends greatly.&nbsp; Her hitters know that she will deliver on time and she makes them look great.&nbsp; I love her hands and how easily the ball just comes out of them so smoothly.&nbsp; Volleyball enthusiasts will love to marvel at her technically sound footwork as she is always in the right spot and well-balanced at contact.”</em>&nbsp; She has had a marvelous junior season and leads all juniors in assists with 1,636.&nbsp; Her numbers don't stop there as she also has tallied 106 kills, 55 aces, 46 blocks, and 386 digs on the year.&nbsp; This kind of production is why she has every college coach in the country looking at her.&nbsp; We are proud to have her nominated.&nbsp; Please congratulate her on earning a nomination for an All-State Award.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Sage Thomas [2024] 5-7 Setter (HS: Columbus/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sage is currently an unranked prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings.&nbsp; She plays at Columbus High School.&nbsp; Miss Thomas has the second most assists amongst juniors this year, which sits at 1,455.&nbsp; She also has 339 digs, 41 total blocks, 55 aces and 64 kills.&nbsp; She has an excellent push to the pins when the ball is well on the right side of the court.&nbsp; I love how soft her hands are and how the ball just floats right out of her gifted hands.&nbsp; She always has great posture during the set and this allows her to be a true sniper who always hits her target over and over.&nbsp; Her great ball control has Columbus with an overall record of 45-3 and also 14-0 in district play.&nbsp; She has shown us that she belongs in the conversation of the best setters in the state during the high school season.&nbsp; Please congratulate her on being nominated for an All-State award.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='307449' first='Sophia' last='Wilson'] [2024] 5-7 Setter (HS: Allen/Club: [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last='']' last='']' last='']/Verbal: Uncommitted)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sophia is currently an unranked prospect in the 2024 class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings, but she is on my watch list as I watched her all club season long and she is still proving herself during the high school season.&nbsp; She plays at Allen High School and also club for the famed [program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='[program_tooltip program_id='431200' first='Madfrog' last='']' last='']' last=''] program. &nbsp;She currently has the third most assists amongst all juniors in the state with 1294 total. &nbsp;She also has tallied 298 digs, 31 blocks, 48 aces, and added 70 kills.&nbsp; This young lady is a ball of energy in the right back area and can track the ball with the best of them off of a pass or dig.&nbsp; She is very fast on the court and uses that quick footwork to set up perfectly to deliver a hittable ball to any attacker.&nbsp; I love her athleticism especially when she runs the ball behind her to the right side when out of system.&nbsp; Please congratulate her on being nominated for an All-State award.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There are many more amazing players that will be nominated.&nbsp;
