Austin Kingsley | Prep Dig Scout
This multi-position standout from Nebraska Christian has seen the GJNC stage before. Perdew piloted the South Central NE offense to a podium finish in 2023, and history repeated itself this year. Perhaps her background as a left-side hitter gives Perdew an innate ability to connect with her 16 Black teammates. Either way, Perdew has fully bought into South Central NE’s multi-dimensional offense that uses unique patterns to gain an advantage. She commanded 16 Black’s system with poise and aggression, leading to another berth in the Liberty semifinals.

We have yet another setter-hitter to discuss in South Central NE 16 Black’s lineup. Perdew seized some early attention on the prep side as a freshman outside hitter with Nebraska Christian. She kept up her attacking role in Year 2, but South Central NE offers a different look at Perdew’s extraordinary versatility. 16 Black deploys Perdew as a setter, where she commands the offense with incredible poise and consistency. Even after setting a high bar with last year’s Show Me title, Perdew and 16 Black repeated history with another appearance in the qualifier’s championship match. They’ll likely reach higher at Nationals, too.

Perdew’s prep journey has been a joy to watch. We first watched her put up big numbers as a left-side hitter for Nebraska Christian, which made the state tournament in Perdew’s debut season. Her tenure with South Central NE has moved Perdew from outside hitter to setter, and the team’s pattern of success makes this a worthy choice. Perdew is heading back to GJNC after 16 Black picked up back-to-back Liberty bids at the Show Me Qualifier. She can do it all.

Here’s another South Central selection. Perdew is a bit of a wildcard pick given her multi-positional impact on the prep circuit. Her athleticism makes her a can’t-miss outside hitter with Nebraska Christian, where she helped the team reach the state tournament as a freshman. However, Perdew’s has also adapted to a setter role with South Central NE, and big-time success has followed. This player has a lot more than just “hops.”

We might as well bring on another player who has seen the postseason stage before. Perdew entered the spotlight as a freshman with Nebraska Christian and competed in the state tournament as one of the team’s starting outside hitters. After that successful debut, Perdew elevated her attacking numbers with 2.6 kills per set on a 0.205 efficiency. Sustaining this output will be a huge factor in getting the Eagles back to the tournament, a place where they’ve kept showing up over the past few years.

Good luck trying to anticipate what position Perdew might play from one match to the next. We first saw her rise to the forefront as an outside hitter for Nebraska Christian at the state championships. But Perdew also has a deep setting repertoire that we were able to watch in the South Central NE gym this spring. That versatility emerged on club volleyball’s biggest stage as Perdew helped her team to a podium finish in Chicago.
