Club Breakdown: Michigan Elite 18 Elite

Prep Dig has you covered on who's who and what names you need to keep on your radar.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Michigan Elite really has something good cooking over here. From top to bottom, this club brings the best year and year out, this may be their best yet. 18 Elite rounds out the top teams at Michigan Elite and is another strong one. A formidable force a year ago, they bring on some big pieces with the potential to be even better! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>Returners</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Leading this team is an AVCA All-American setter, [player_tooltip player_id='66331' first='Margo' last='Sudzina']. That makes two setters in this age group at Michigan Elite with such an honor. Sudzina is a long time member to this squad and has some of the best hands in any gym you find her in. Joining Sudzina for one last round together is MB [player_tooltip player_id='140493' first='Grace' last='Wenaas']. These two, together, had a huge season this fall. Wenaas emerged as one of the top attackers in the state and had a career performance against Country Day for the upset in the post-season tournament, 19 kills and 8 blocks in the sweep!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Other returning attackers include OH/MB [player_tooltip player_id='140487' first='Emma' last='Larkins'] and OPP [player_tooltip player_id='140492' first='Anneliese' last='Schriber']. Both Larkins and Schriber are long-time members to this squad as well and know how to put the ball down. Larkins' versatility as a pin attacker or a middle brings the team lots of options. Meanwhile, Schriber has great shots on the right side and showcasing some high level ball control in her final season at Elite.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rounding out the crew of returners include L [player_tooltip player_id='152531' first='Norah' last='Tisko'] and OPP/S [player_tooltip player_id='140489' first='Sarah' last='Milam']. Tisko is another long-time member who has held down the 'bro jersey for several seasons now. She's coming off a nice career at Royal Oak Shrine where she led Knights to two straight D3 quarterfinal appearances. Milam is the perfect compliment to Sudzina at the setters position. With some big time additions to their net play and another cog in their defensive success, these newbies are great adds. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Looking at the offensive side of things, this team brings on MB <strong>Hope Schriber</strong>, OH [player_tooltip player_id='108755' first='Bella' last='Austin'] and MB [player_tooltip player_id='140485' first='Mackenzie' last='Jackson']. Schriber is coming off of a huge season with Imlay City. The Trojan's leader in scoring, attacking and blocking, she brings a lot of prowess to the middle. Austin is coming off of a great senior season with Dakota, leading the Cougars to a quarterfinal appearance in Division 1. Bringing on some great depth on the blocking side of things, Jackson is coming off of her third straight championship season with Marian in the fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rounding out the quadrant of newbies, 18 Elite adds another Marian-product in [player_tooltip player_id='66548' first='Evelynne' last='Oegema']. Oegema was an impact sub for Marian in the fall and has a wicked serve that proved dangerous for any opponent. Oegema has been donning the libero jersey quite a bit thus far in the club season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
