#16, Sophie Dufour Sophie Dufour 6'1" | OH Franklin County | 2025 State #130 Nation KY (Franklin County)– As only a sophomore for Franklin County, outside hitter, Sophie Dufour Sophie Dufour 6'1" | OH Franklin County | 2025 State #130 Nation KY gathered 446 kills for the squad and averaged 4.74 kills per set. Playing all-the way around, Dufour also tallied 225 digs and 36 service aces. From an attacking standpoint, Dufour gets everything she can out of her approach and does a great job of staying open and keeping her elbow up. She’s at her maximum point every jump which gives her so many options hitting-wise. Dufour was the star for Franklin County at such a young age and will continue to be for a couple more years.
#17, Madison Edelen Madison Edelen OH Nelson County | 2025 State KY (Nelson County)– One of my favorite players to watch in school and club, sophomore, Madison Edelen Madison Edelen OH Nelson County | 2025 State KY collected 508 kills in 108 sets. She also had the second most digs on the team with 344 and added the team-high of 75 service aces. As you can tell, Edelen was an outside attacker for her school team, but little do you know, she can do it all. Her hands are gold, and she’s so quick with her feet in the setting position. However, Edelen is equally impressive attacking because of her athleticism and volleyball knowledge. I can’t want to see where Madison Edelen Madison Edelen OH Nelson County | 2025 State KY ends up in college because she’s simply so talented.
#18, Kendrea White Kendrea White MB Madisonville-North Hopkins | 2023 State KY (Madisonville-North Hopkins)– Leading the team with 518 kills, senior outside hitter, Kendrea White Kendrea White MB Madisonville-North Hopkins | 2023 State KY , impacted the team from every angle. Not only did she average 4.67 kills per set, but she also gathered 294 digs and 48 service aces. White helped her team to a district and region championship where she earned all-tournament team honors for both. In these matches, White had 19 kills and 9 digs in the district finals against Caldwell County and then counted a whopping 32 kills and 20 digs in a four set win to Henderson County for the region championship. Balling out and killing the ball were just two of White’s many skills.
#19, Ginger Johnson Ginger Johnson OH Wolfe County | 2024 State KY (Wolfe County)– Adding a junior to the mix, Ginger Johnson Ginger Johnson OH Wolfe County | 2024 State KY , setter, aided the team with 493 kills, 318 digs, and 83 service aces. Johnson was a deadly duo with freshman teammate, Naoma Noble Naoma Noble OH Wolfe County | 2026 KY , where combined they scored 939 kills which is about 4/5 of the whole team’s kills. I know you’re thinking, “How does a setter get that many kills?” If you watch Johnson’s Hudl online, she perfected the run forward and tip backward technique with the left hand. She hides the tip really well and uses that to her advantage in almost every game. Johnson’s skills and smart mind will continue to help the team for another year!
#20, Kaley White (Lee County)– Lastly, at the #20 spot, we have senior outside hitter, Kaley White, who led the team with 427 kills in 94 sets. She also added 24 blocks, 211 digs, and 38 service aces. In a four-set loss to Powell County in the district championship, White had a double-double with 25 kills and 12 digs. She continually proved to be one of the best and and a true role model to her teammates. When the team was in trouble, they’d set White, and she’d always do her job. White will be missed!
