We will be taking a look at some of the top players from this weekend and how their teams finished up. This 15s age across Oklahoma will be a special group! They are a deep class of athletes and will help push the state as a whole forward. This list is not the only players who played great, there are a ton of them. Just a handful I was able to watch in person.
Gold Bracket:
Quarters- Club Velocity U15-1 over Kaizen 15 Gold, UPVBC 15 Pink over OK Charge 15 American, UPVBC 15 Elite over HBJ 15U Marissa, Virago 15-1 over OK Charge 15UA East
Semis- UPVBC 15 Pink over Club VelocityU15-1 and UPVBC 15 Elite over Virago 15-1
Finals- UPVBC 15 Elite over UPVBC 15 Pink
Top Players:
Tyra McKinnie Tyra McKinnie 6'0" | MB Glenpool | 2026 OK #1, Middle Blocker for UPVBC 15 Elite. She was good last year when she exploded on the scene as a freshman at Glenpool but she is REALLY good now. If she keeps at this rate, she may be a big help to a college program soon. She has the height and athleticism to excel for years to come. She transitions like she means business and has an eye for those deep corners. This really opens up the pins for her team to go to work. This biggest jump I have seen from her is her ability to affect the the game from the service line. She has added this solid jump float to her bag of tricks and that’s just one more rotation of her causing issues for the other team.
Tatum Simmons Tatum Simmons 5'6" | DS/L Jenks | 2026 OK #12, Libero for Virago 15-1. She will find her way into the starting line up of her high school very quick. Her effort is hard to match with her footwork. Rarely does she get caught stuck to the ground and in a poor position to make a play. Virago 15-1 serve receives with only 2 passers in most rotations and she is big reason why. She takes up a ton of court and gets an early jump on the ball. Her transition play this weekend was on point. She didn’t allow many off speed balls drop on her watch. She is a huge key to this teams success early in the season.
Quincee Carabello Quincee Carabello DS/L Victory Christian | 2026 OK #11, Libero for UPVBC 15 Elite. She plays as an outside hitter for Victory Christian High School but she possesses a slew of skills that allow her to excel at just about every position. She was all over the court this weekend in transition defense. I am glad I was able to catch the semis match between Virago 15-1 and UPVBC Elite cause she was a stud in that match. She made some amazing diving plays and would seemingly come out of nowhere to save a ball. I think she has a real chance to be recruited as a defensive player here in Oklahoma.
Anabel Nelson #16, Outside Hitter #16 for UPVBC 15 Pink. She was a big reason why her team was able to finish top 3 in both tournaments here in Tulsa. She will be apart of the tradition that is solid players coming out of the Lincoln Christian High School program. She will be getting year round top tier coaching from club and school ball. She brings an immediate impact to the game with her body language and her ability to place tough swings into the opposing court. I cant wait to see her growth later this club season.
Oklahoma is undoubtedly trending upwards! These type of players listed prove this. They work hard and deserve some sort of recognition. I am glad we here at prep dig can help in this area! I’m looking forward to how some of our top teams fair come qualifier season.
