Let's Play "Name That Uncommitted 2023"

To the 2023s, I see you.  I know the second half of a senior year can be stressful, especially when people ask, “So, what's the plan next year?”.  There are still options.  There are still great schools and volleyball programs who are looking for high school athletes out of the Class of 2023.  For college coaches, I have some names that I think would fit at the next level..  I emphasize the word “fit” because that is what it all comes down to, finding the right fit.  Take a look at these descriptions and see if you can find the right names for these uncommitted 2023s.    <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://x.com/PrepDigChris/status/1616107812823736322?s=20 </div></figure>   ANSWER KEY BELOW   1.   Another middle that comes from the Chicagoland area.  I've seen her on the high school court as well as club and she finds a way to make her presence known.  She's played for Micho and is now on the Adversity 18 Adidas squad that advanced to day three gold pools at the Windy City National Qualifier.  This 2023 middle could be a steal.  She's well trained, has a really solid knowledge of where and when to block by reading the other side of the net, and can score points in a variety of ways.    2.   This setter comes from Central Wisconsin and is running the show for Wisconsin Flight 18 Black out of the Stevens Point area.  She's a left handed setter who can play all the way around and knows how to set up her attackers as well as take some points on her own.  She smiles, she's positive, and has really positive intangibles on the court.  This club is new to Wisconsin, but will be playing a national 18s schedule where you can catch them next at the Northern Lights National Qualifier in Minneapolis.    3.   I was extremely impressed with this middle at the Windy City National Qualifier this past weekend.  She is accustomed to playing at the open level with some of the top players in the country coming out of the Detroit area.  This middle blocker knows how to run a tempo in front and behind the setter and can score points doing so.  This athlete isn't the only one on her team who would make a big impact at the next level.  There is a scrappy libero and a uber athletic six rotation outside as well.    4.   This libero is another one who is accustomed to playing at a high level for her high school and club teams.  She was the libero this past weekend at the Windy City National Qualifier for Milwaukee Sting 18 White who were in the final four of the 18 Liberty Division.  She is solid in serve receive, anticipates well, and was also libero for Arrowhead High School, one of the biggest programs at the high school ranks in Wisconsin.  She is definitely an impact defender at the next level.    5.   Another libero, this athlete has played in a lot of big matches at the high school and club level.  This past weekend, her Iowa Rocket club team won the 18 Liberty title, punching their ticket to Columbus.  At the high school ranks, she was the starting libero for West Liberty out of Southeast Iowa where she played in three state tournaments, including a runner up finish in 2021.  She's a gamer, very scrappy, and brings a spark to the court!    6.   This athlete is springy!  Six rotation outside who can play on the pin or out of the backrow, either way she can attack and bring the fire.  She's out of Indianapolis and knows the speed and high level of being in the open field.  She can pack a punch with her swing for REV 18-1 Avengers and could be one who would score points or pass at the collegiate level.     7.   This middle blocker is extremely active and physical along the front line.  Her Kokoro 18-1 out of St. Paul, MN won the Winter Classic in Milwaukee this weekend where this squad has been playing together for years.  She connects well with St. Thomas commit, Morgan Kealy at the setter and was even a close rival to her in high school being the school down the road out of Hudson, Wisconsin.  She's strong, can hit with some pace, and knows how to establish a strong block.      Answer Key      1.
