Club Team Close-Up: Adrenaline 17 Sydney

Since then, the season tipped off.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'll make it out to some events through the season and will be at regionals, but wanted to continue highlighting some teams in conjunction with in-person evaluations.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Let's take a look at Adrenaline 17 Sydney today: </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Rachel Anger, '24, OH, East Dubuque (IL) - </strong>Anger was one of the top hitters for the Warriors as a junior in '22. She's poised for a big senior season. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Alicen Bainbridge, '24, MB, Dubuque Wahlert Catholic - </strong>Bainbridge paced the Golden Eagles with 44.0 blocks last Fall. She added 32 aces and 114 kills. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='261053' first='Aliya' last='Ballard'], '24, L, Cedar Rapids Kennedy - </strong>Ballard came through for the Cougars in '22 with 108 digs, 14 assists, three kills and 13 aces. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Anna Barnes, '24, MH, Cedar Rapids Prairie - </strong>Barnes produced 19.0 blocks for the Prairie Hawks during her junior campaign. She also contributed 27 kills, 13 assists and 16 digs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Lanee Duwa, '25, DS, Wellman Mid-Prairie - </strong>The sophomore racked up 222 digs in the Fall. She added 14 aces, nine assists and 2.0 blocks. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Madison Gustafson, '24, L/DS, Marion - </strong>In a loaded lineup, Gustafson appeared in nine sets for the state-tournament bound Wolves in '22. She accumulated six digs and converted all six of her serve attempts. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='261100' first='Vada' last='Klunder'], '25, RS, Hudson - </strong>The sophomore registered 31.0 blocks and 102 kills in the Fall. She also chipped in with 21 digs. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Jenna Lewis, '24, S, Dubuque Senior - </strong>Lewis pumped out 725 assists, ninth most in 5A. She added 30 kills, 204 digs, 19.0 blocks and 37 aces. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Sophia Paulsen, '24, OH, Marion - </strong>The versatile Paulsen helped the Wolves reach the state semifinals with 176 digs, 97 kills, 39 assists, 14.0 blocks and 24 aces as a junior. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Anniston Werner, '24, OH, Scales Mound (IL) - </strong>Werner pounded 213 kills as a junior last Fall after totaling 259 as a 10th-grader.
