Alexis Maesch Alexis Maesch 5'10" | RS Avon | 2024 State IN , 5-10 RS, Avon, Circle City
A lefty banger by trade, Alexis attacks at a very high level (10′?), hits a heavy ball and can hit any shot you need. She defends at the net well for her size, plays floor defense better than most in her position and has an innate understanding of the game that comes with her years of experience.
Marin Sanchez Marin Sanchez 5'10" | OH Andrean | 2024 State IN , 5-10 OH, Andrean, Epic United
Already in possession of a state championship trophy, Marin is also a 1st team All State honoree. Her ability to be a six-rotation outside hitter at the next level is obvious, and smoothly transitions from defense to offense with ease. Considering where she’s located (“the region”), I’m surprised she is still available. She’s known nothing but winning at a high level for years and can be a plug and play option upon immediate arrival at any size school that needs her skill set.
Makenzie Wagner Makenzie Wagner 5'10" | RS Providence | 2024 State IN , 5-10 RS, Providence, Union
Also with a state championship trophy in hand, Miss Wagner is yet another lefty hammer that can hit from anywhere and hit any shot while doing so. I’ve been high on this kid for years, as her volleyball IQ is through the roof. With a quick arm, fast feet in transition and the ability to always be in the right spot at the right time, Makenzie is a highly skilled attacker who can defend too.
Melaina Hawblitzel Melaina Hawblitzel 5'10" | RS Warsaw | 2024 State IN , 5-10 RS/OH, Warsaw, Team Pineapple
I listed both pins as her position because she’s fully capable of doing both. Her high-level training and physicality make her appear bigger than her 5-10 frame indicates. She’s got a fast arm, faster feet in transition, a high attack point and an ability to terminate at will. I like her speed most of all, as she beats bigger, slower blocks by getting up quickly.
Brooklyn Edmonds Brooklyn Edmonds 5'9" | OH Rossville | 2024 State IN , 5-9 OH, Rossville, Boiler Juniors
Fiery and athletic, Brooklyn spends her falls playing middle for her high school squad, mostly out of necessity. And why not? She’s their highest jumper, their most athletic volleyball player, and gets her training from Boiler Juniors. She does project to be a pin player at the next level, but know this—if any small school wants a kid that can literally play anywhere with passion, fire and a high level of skill, Brooklyn is your woman.
Lauren Lewis Lauren Lewis 5'10" | OH Hamilton Heights | 2024 State IN , 5-10 OH, Hamilton Heights, Munciana
In Lauren, you get a six-rotation outside that can do a little bit of everything. She can defend on the floor, and has a shot at 1000 career digs. She can terminate regularly, and will pass 500 kills for her career in her first match in the fall at HH. With a little luck, she can surpass 100 career blocks, a feat not normally seen by a left side under six feet. How about behind the baseline? She will surpass 100 career aces this coming fall as well. And to think she’s also getting training from Munciana…..
