Standout Blockers from the 17 Open at MEQs

Statements were made, tickets were punched and walls were built. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here are some of the top middle blockers coming out of the 2023 Mid-East Qualifier.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>Marae Reilly - Colorado Juniors </h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In terms of size, Reilly is one of the smaller players at the net for Colorado Juniors, but she was huge this weekend. One of the key contributors to Juniors going a perfect 10-0 on the weekend came from Reilly and her impeccable blocking work.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>Jada Ingram - Dynasty (UNLV)</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A good thing about having so many talented attackers on your side, no one knows when you're going to strike. When Ingram gets the call, she answers and delivers! Ingram, as lethal of an attacker she is, she is just as tough of a blocker for opponents to get around.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>Cy Rae Campbell - Dynasty (Wake Forest)</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Like teammate Ingram, Campbell made her presence well known in Indianapolis. While she may have fallen under my radar, she's proving that you cannot overlook her! I caught a lot what Philpot was made of in the semifinal match versus Colorado Juniors, and man, Illinois may have themselves one of the most premier blockers of tomorrow coming in, in 2024.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>Julia Hunt - NKYVC (Washington)</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I feel bad for whoever has to be on the receiving end of a Julia Hunt swing. She can be one of the most physical middles in the gym and MEQ was no different. A hammer for an arm and an insane eye on the net as a blocker, Hunt was playing lights out.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":4} --> <h4>Taya Nordmann - Legacy</h4> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I wasn't sure when I would see Nordmann back in action full-time. But this weekend saw her put in some work! Freshly back from an ACL injury in late July, Nordmann was playing this weekend as though she hasn't skipped a beat. A well known talent as a blocker, her attacking was untouchable in Indianapolis.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
