There is no talking about grit without Sierra being in the conversation. She gives every ounce of effort that she has into every point. Her communication is efficient and productive; she is smart, aggressive, and not afraid to take risks. Sierra is an impact player in every sense of the word. She leads by example and puts in the work on the court. From her hustle to her execution of plays, she never misses a beat. What also impresses me is that she improves every time I see her play. At the Showcase, her block was incredibly effective, which makes her that much more of a threat to her opponents.

Sierra set throughout the weekend, and I also saw her on the right side for a few matches. She has an energizing presence on the court and is a huge motivator for her team. Her grit as a setter and hustle on the court help her make big plays. She has a great touch on the ball and feeds all her hitters. Sierra made good connections with each of her hitters and could terminate and earn points when she was on the right side.

Hoeft loves to feed the quick tempo to her attackers. When she found her connection with a particular hitter she found a way to increase their chance to succeed as well. Hoeft was one of many explosive athletes in the 2027 group we saw today but she was showing off her athleticism from the setting position.

Sierra is a savvy setter who moves the ball around really well. She is only a sophomore but plays at a very high level. Her consistency and ability to work with different players sets her apart. She also makes great in-game adjustments, which can be a huge asset at an event like the Top 250 Expo. Sierra is an all-around athlete who can set and swing, though she truly excels in the setter position.
