Here are five middles from the class of '25 that play much bigger than their frames might dictate.

[player_tooltip player_id='155089' first='Lilly' last='Howell'], 6-2, Burris, Munciana

Lilly is a big, strong and VERY intimidating middle that can take over a match both offensively and defensively. She's got super long arms as well---on more than one occasion, she's had to close blocks without her feet being where they need to be. Lilly also has a very high volleyball IQ, which makes her an ideal candidate for the next middle to receive and accept an offer to play at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='152945' first='Harper' last='Holden'], 6-0, Greenfield-Central, Academy

One of my favorite players at our Stock Up Showcase last week, Harper is a big and physical middle who will excel as an M2 at the next level. Her current high school iteration might not get her the publicity that she deserves, as her conference is one of the toughest volleyball has to offer in the state. That being said, Harper takes full advantage of her club time, and has added to her array of shots as time has passed.

[player_tooltip player_id='172329' first='Stella' last='Terpening'], 6-2, Westfield, Circle City

Long and lean, Stella can be either an M1 or an M2 at the next level. She defends from pin to pin with ease, attacks very high, and plays with an energy not normally seen from middles in any class. She's just one more of a youth movement at Westfield that should be garnering more attention as the fall starts.

[player_tooltip player_id='192113' first='Ava' last='Tindall'], 6-0, Homestead, [program_tooltip program_id='430155' first='Team' last='Pineapple']

Steady and reliable, Ava rarely makes errors and is the quintessential defensive middle. I like her as an M2 at the next level, as she can hold her own AND hold the opposing middle to create holes in the block for her pins. Always ready to hit and always in the right spot defensively, Ava is a no-doubt recruit that will be a pleasant surprise to anyone who takes her.

[player_tooltip player_id='274410' first='Addison' last='Makun'], 6-5, Silver Creek, KIVA

Multiple publications have Miss Makun anywhere from 6-3 to 6-5. She's taller than me, at not quite 6-4, and not because of the messy bun she might put up. In all seriousness, Addison is a solid M1 choice for the next level. She's long, lean, fast and plays with a motor that looks both effortless and endless. Plus, I mean, SHE'S SIX FIVE. As for as I'm concerned, I'm surprised that she hasn't received an offer on her size alone.

Here are five middles from the class of '25 that play much bigger than their frames might dictate.
