She reads hitters exceptionally well, positioning herself early and delivering high, accurate digs that give her team a chance to reset and respond. Laven stays low and locked in from the first serve to the final whistle, never hesitating to give up her body to keep the ball off the floor. Her firm, technically sound platform allows her to control tough balls with ease, making her a consistent and trusted presence in the back row. With her team placing first at Lone Star Classic, I can’t wait to see how they perform this weekend as they prepare for another big stage.

Austin Skyline 15 Royal’s Blumoff was really impressive with her game on the backcourt. Watching from the sidelines, it was easy to see how well she was reading the block in front of her and sliding from behind it in the last minute to make digs at the left back position. The libero was also brilliant with her quickness and ball control and made some really impressive one-handed digs. Blumoff was also reliable and consistent with her serve-receive efforts, covering a lot of ground and repeatedly delivering the ball to the setter.

With Blumoff at libero, Austin Skyline 15 Royal was the 11th-best team in the division, with three wins and three losses. She was electric on the backcourt and was among the best pure defenders of the event. Besides being very quick with her movement, Blumoff also displayed excellent ball control – she made multiple one-handed digs when getting tips behind the block at the left back position and delivered them perfectly to the setter. The libero kept a high level in serve-receive, playing with great confidence and consistently passing the ball to the target.
