I like to see the “Prep Dig Alums” and how they are performing, even when they head to schools that are across the country. I might be a little bias, but the D2, D3, and NAIA teams are among the best in the country in their division. These teams are consistently getting top talent, they are winning academic awards, and providing a positive student athlete experience. Here are some big D2 commits from Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois in the Class of 2024.
I saw Abby Ogna play two summers ago and had never seen her play before. She was a long, athletic outside hitter heading into her junior season where I saw plenty of potential. Fast forward a year with some really solid training and national club experience at Wisconsin Ice and Winona State definitely got a steal. Ogna is extremely physical where she is so tough to stop on the pin and has been able to develop an all around outside game as well. She is averaging over four kills a set and is hitting .306 with her Marshfield High School team off to a 21-1 start.

Dohs can flat out play. She is another one who has plenty of matches under her belt, continually make her team better. She can play on the outside or could even contribute as a libero. She has nearly 190 kills and over 130 digs this season so far where her high school team is in the top five of Wisconsin’s largest class. She is heading to Florida where she will play for Eckerd College located in St. Pete. They also have beach as an option where she definitely has the all around skill to find success on the sand.
I’ve seen Messenger play since she was 15s year and knew she would make a great fit at the next level no matter what place she would commit to. I think this is a great fit where she is a solid six rotation outside hitter that is heading to Central Missouri who has been surging the MIAA. They most recently defeated conference rival Northwest Missouri State in a five set thriller to start off conference play. Messenger is accustomed to high level training and competition, she could potentially contribute right away to a solid program.

Hoing makes scoring look easy from the pin where she has been a key leader her whole career at QND. Whether its a team camp, club tournament, or high school event she has been a key cog to the success of her teams. Her high school squad is currently sitting at 19-1 so far this year as they will be looking to break their way into the final four. Hoing is attacking at a blistering rate where she is averaging 4.6 kills per set. She will stay close to home and be a key piece to the resurgence of Maryville.
Quite a year for Wayne State where they were able to be the opening act of the Nebraska/Omaha match that drew over 90,000 fans and now they can claim the top spot in the country after defeating Concordia-St.Paul. Romano is a playmaker, an athlete who can do a little bit of everything to make it happen for her side of the net. I’m sure she was heavily pursued in the recruiting process and is staying close to home where where she will have a chance to win a national title year in and year out.

They are high school and club teammates, they have been quite a combination their entire career in very different ways. On the club side and high school side, Willis is a point scorer. She is a high flyer that can pain the lines, but also swing hard looking to break a finger on the block. Extremely dynamic where she will always find a way to score – she’s willing to take as many swings as needed. Luhring is a little unique with her skill set, she is a libero during club and a setter during the high school season. She will actually join her older sister at Northwest Missouri State where she is a libero/DS. Grundy Center High School is currently ranked 3rd in their class which features some of the top small school teams in the state.
