It's continued with tremendous growth, many of these student-athlete finding college homes to continue competing in the sport.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>As regular readers know, I believe in providing additional and important context to the rankings. They're not all created or evolve equally. Development is not linear.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The best way to view the rankings is by identifying tiers. These are levels of players with similar abilities and potential. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>For this Iowa senior class, there's been a solid Top 3 making up the No. 1 tier for quite some time. Waukee Northwest outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='490013' first='Logan' last='Vogt'] remained atop the tier in this latest update. The Iowa State commitment helped the Wolves win the state championship last year and then starred for a PowerPlex outfit that qualified in the open division at this summer's USAV Nationals in Indianapolis.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Holding down the second spot for another ranking round is Iowa City West outside hitter [player_tooltip player_id='360642' first='Sophia' last='Austen']. Another Cyclone pledge, the Trojan senior earned first-team all-state honors while helping the program return to the state tournament for the first time since 2016. Her United squad won the Iowa regional title for the second year in a row.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='443092' first='Malia' last='Rogers'] checks in at No. 3 in the new rankings like she did in the previous iteration. The Waukee senior and Purdue commitment powered the Warriors to the regional finals last year and lifted Six Pack to the USAV Nationals this summer. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The three-player second tier tips off with Waukee Northwest right-side hitter [player_tooltip player_id='493601' first='Piper' last='Ladwig']. The Iowa State commitment boasts as much upside as anybody on this rundown. She joined Vogt in winning the state title in 2025 and pushing PowerPlex to the open division at USAV Nationals. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Liberty libero [player_tooltip player_id='316419' first='Edie' last='Miller'] remains in the fifth spot of the rankings. The Dayton pledge helped the Lightning to the regional finals last year and piloted Rockets to the USAV Nationals this summer. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rounding out the second tier is Durant middle hitter [player_tooltip player_id='493971' first='Allison' last='Toft']. She'll be off to Kansas State next year but first will try to close out her prep career in style. An injury slowed her during a club season that saw her Select squad reach the USAV national tournament. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Once again, three players comprise the third tier. It begins with another Waukee Northwest/PowerPlex standout in the do-it-all [player_tooltip player_id='490011' first='Leah' last='Janulewicz'], who is committed to Drake as a libero. While she held down that role for Plex, Janulewicz played six rotations as an outside hitter during the Wolves' title run. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At No. 8 is yet another member of the mighty PowerPlex team. [player_tooltip player_id='500340' first='Kaylie' last='Klein'] preps with Dowling Catholic instead of Waukee Northwest, however. She'll be headed to Santa Clara next year. First, Klein will be looking to help the Maroons chase a state championship. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Finishing up tier three is towering middle hitter [player_tooltip player_id='818213' first='Ryanne' last='Brubaker']. After playing a key role in Grundy Center reaching the state semifinals last year, the Marquette commitment was a big season that CIA qualified for the USAV national tournament. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Versatile Pleasant Valley senior [player_tooltip player_id='490015' first='Mazie' last='Sweers'] heads a five-player fourth tier.
