About Camryn

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I feel that my style is just being loud on the court and making adjustments to players tendencies as we play. I can run whatever defense is asked of me and I adjust accordingly off of reading the hitters or my blockers. Trying to read hitters makes the game more fun I think.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m super vocal on the court and I love the energy of the game and my teammates. I am always hyping my teammates up and trying to keep everyone positive in games and in practice. I don’t let mistakes get me down and I feel that I am a real positive and motivational teammate.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in NHS for academics at my school. I am ranked in the top 5% of my class.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I believe that I have learned great leadership skills through sports through my career. Sometimes it is also important to follow though and that’s what helps teams get stronger. I am involved with many hours of community service through school and outside of school. We open car doors in the morning at elementary school drop off as well as volunteer time at a community retirement home.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and was also a head volleyball coach at a high school nearby. She was unable to attend my varsity games last year bc she was coaching hers. It has been hard to not let the struggles we have not affect me when playing and in school, but it has definitely made me live more in the moments because you never know when something can happen.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking to play college in Florida! I don’t even care what level it is. I just want to experience living and playing in a whole new atmosphere
