Tenley Newton, a 6 rotation freshman hitter for Burleson High, came into this season with a point to prove! Age means nothing next to her athleticism and ability to play the game well. As a strong offensive option, Tenley swings intentionally, hitting her angles and delivering consistent kills that are putting her team on top. As the season progresses she is a talking point to consider for opposing teams.

Tenley plays for a Burleson program that reached the UIL 5A D2 state championship playoffs in fall 2025 and she is stepping into a high school career with that standard already set around her. What she brought to the Dallas Freshman Showcase was a preview of why that environment suits her. Her approach timing was ahead of where most 2030 outside hitters are operating and the way she adjusted her attack when the first option was not available showed real volleyball instinct. Dallas Skyline has her developing in the right direction and the combination of those two environments is putting her in position to grow quickly. I watched her this club season and she was phenomenal.  It was nice to see how much she has improved going in to her freshman season. The Top Performer award she earned on July 19th is an early data point on a recruiting timeline that is just getting started, and if the work she showed in Carrollton is any indication, that timeline is going to move fast.
