The Michigan Top 250 Expo on Saturday was loaded with upcoming prospects, including in the Class of 2025.

Here's our second part of the 2025 Player Evaluations.

[player_tooltip player_id='488358' first='Jayla' last='Martin'], OH/MH Woodhaven (2024)

Martin was one a 2024 prospect that mixed it up with the young kids and she was very impressive. Martin has the ability to play well above the net as she hung in the air for quite a while. That allowed her to generate a lot of powerful swings. While she can work on her accuracy and fine-tune some of her defensive technique, her raw athleticism and explosiveness is something a college program could definitely use.

[player_tooltip player_id='483970' first='Abby' last='Hicks'], S Leland/Northshore

[player_tooltip player_id='483970' first='Abby' last='Hicks']

Hicks is coming off a great prep season with Leland and she showed a lot of positive things, both as a setter and as a defender. Her movement in the back row was on point and she was technically sound in her serve receive. As a setter, Hicks tries to push a good pace and connects very well with her middles.

[player_tooltip player_id='490042' first='Kaleya' last='Houston'], OH Belleville/Team D

Houston shows an ability to finish from either pin and also can take swings in the middle. She stays focused on her approach to the net and does a good job to adjust her swing based on the defense, mixing up offspeed and fastballs. She looks like she has the ability to dial up her intensity another notch, which might really lead to some breakout play.

[player_tooltip player_id='261180' first='Korin' last='Hutton'], S Anchor Bay/Legacy

Hutton was the team captain of the expo, you always heard her encouraging her peers and she was a great director on the floor as a setter. Hutton's got a consistent set that leads to a lot of good swings. She definitely looks to be in complete control and very comfortable directing her team. With her setting ability, it's easy to see why.

[player_tooltip player_id='261122' first='Alyssa' last='Jasman'], DS/L Canton/Michigan Elite

Jasman seemed a little shy at times, but it was usually because she was laser-focused. Jasman had active eyes and was making sure she knew where the play was going and supporting her hitters. Jasman also had a nice arcing serve that gave her peers some fits.

[player_tooltip player_id='261193' first='Mallory' last='Johnson'], S Churchill/Force

Johnson had a real soft touch on her sets, almost looking like she wasn't touching the ball at all and it just floated off her hands. The soft touch allowed her peers to power through with a good shot angle. Johnson also looked smooth in her movement at the net and was an active blocker.

[player_tooltip player_id='443101' first='Ramya' last='Johnson'], DS/L L'Anse Creuse North/Crank It

[player_tooltip player_id='443101' first='Ramya' last='Johnson']

Johnson was another defender who was just locked in with each rep. She never looked panicked in taking on a serve or a tough dig, she just got to her spots and made a lot of tough plays. Her movement was also smooth and quick. She had a great first step which helped her get to a lot of balls. Johnson also always seemed to bring a positive attitude and enjoyed competing on the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='490047' first='Madison' last='Jordan'], MH Warren Mott/Team D

Jordan was a 5'6” middle that had to battle with a lot of competitors with more length than her, but she brought her best. Jordan didn't shy away and played with aggression at the net, but could work on sizing up her opposing blockers and look to beat them with different attack angles. She puts in the effort, now she can add a few tricks up her sleeve.

[player_tooltip player_id='490052' first='Saanvi' last='Kalia'], DS/L International Academy West/Legacy

Kalia was a good effort player that covered a lot of space around the court. She showed good instincts on when she needed to make a sprawl or dive to get to the ball. Her form on her serve receive was also strong, as she consistently made good feeds to the setter.
