Player Bio
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
As a setter, I strive to be precise and adaptable. I focus on delivering accurate sets to my hitters, ensuring they have the best opportunities to score. I also stay attentive and flexible, quickly adjusting to the flow of the game and the strengths of my teammates. Communication is key, so I constantly coordinate with my team to maintain a strong offense. People describe me as energetic and fun!
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I would describe my mentality as resilient and full of grit. I believe in facing challenges head-on and learning from every experience, whether it's a success or a setback. My personality is positive and supportive; I enjoy encouraging others and working together to achieve common goals.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I take part in volunteering and community services. I am part of the National Charity League (non-profit and philanthropic organization of mothers and daughters) that focus on community service and leadership development. My favorite activities are working at the Galveston Food Bank and Special Olympics. I also work at my church’s social gatherings and events.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I am part of the school volleyball leadership team, this has enhanced my leadership abilities and taught me the importance of being a supportive teammate. I deeply care about my community; I participate in the "Buddy program", helping young kids learn volleyball. Additionally, I mentor students in the gifted and talented program at my old elementary school. I am part of NCL.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
During one of my volleyball seasons, I fractured my right hand and had to wear a cast for 8 weeks. As the starting setter, my absence impacted my team. Despite being unable to play, I supported and guided my teammates from the sidelines. Mentally, it was tough to overcome the fear of playing again and to regain my setting skills, but I persevered and worked hard to make a strong comeback
What type of college are you looking for?
I'm open to various options, but I'm particularly interested in a college with a strong volleyball program where I can continue to develop my skills. Additionally, I want a place where I can thrive academically, with rigorous programs and supportive faculty. Finding a balance between athletics and academics is important to me, so I'm looking for a college that excels in both areas.
