Palermo was part of the Houston Stellar 17 Elite team that tied for third after getting four wins and two losses. She was very creative when running her team’s offense, feeding her middles very frequently and moving her hitters around when in system. Palermo’s craftiness also appeared when she attempted to score on setter dumps, as she used many different techniques to surprise opposing blockers and defenders, even going for a full swing when working with free balls. The setter played the three rotations at the net and also offered a nice blocking presence on the right, reading opponents well and shutting her zone down.

Palermo sets for high school powerhouse Friendswood and for the famed club Houston Stellar , which she recently joined. She’s one of the players I was already familiar with coming into the event, and I was excited to see that she was able to take her game to another level when compared to the last time I got to watch her in action. Because her technique has always been very well-developed, I think most of the progress was a result of a more confident and relaxed attitude on the court, which just makes her game flow better. Palermo was very creative and dynamic with how she ran her offense, using all of her hitters and it was easy to see how she was connecting well with them, both on and off the court.
