Expert Analysis
Guilherme Torres | Prep Dig Scout
Hickl and her Houston Stellar 16 Elite team ranked fifth in the tournament, with three wins and two losses. She used to play on the right for them, but was moved to the pin this season and immediately became their main offensive weapon. Hickl uses her length extremely well in her swings and has excellent court vision and decision-making. She was nearly unstoppable hitting sharp angle with impressive power and precision. Hickl also did a fine job with her passing, keeping her team in system when she was served.

Another right side hitter to appear in our Watchlist, Hickl plays for Friendswood and Houston Stellar 15 Elite. She’s very long and athletic and uses her frame extremely well at the net. Hickl benefits from her high contact point, but also displays excellent vision to pick the best shots for each situation and the technical tools to execute them. She’s also very consistent with her play and can remain stable during difficult moments of matches.

Hickl’s Houston Stellar 15 Elite team was the fifth-best in the division, completing their weekend schedule with five wins and three losses. She played a big role in their success, contributing from the right side of the net on both sides of the ball. Hickl used her length and athleticism to make contact with the ball at a very high point, but what stood out the most about her offense was her shot selection as she switched from hard-driven swings to tips very smoothly while also making very few errors. The right side also displayed good confidence and composure, playing well in critical moments of sets.
