The [program_tooltip program_id='430193' first='Kansas' last='Networks Volleyball Club'] is hosting a tournament on February 17 and 18.

I scouted four matches Sunday in the 16U Division.

This report features players from the [program_tooltip program_id='428899' first='Wichita' last='Legacy'] 16-1 team that won a two-set match against Crush 16-2 in the final pool play match of the day.

Abby Meier, 5'7”, S/RS, Bishop Carroll, ‘26

Meier is a bouncy setter who can also serve as an effective attacker. She plays with high energy and communicates well with her teammates. She filled up her stat sheet with eight assists, three kills, three digs, and an ace. She like the rest of the athletes in the 16U division has a lot of ball in front of them.

Elena Alvarez, 5'7”, S/OH, Valley Center, '27

Alvarez shared setting duties with Meier. She is longer than Meier, but does not have quite the hop that her teammate does. I like the way she sets and she could be a college attacker if she focused on that aspect of her game. She recorded seven assists, two kills, and one serve receptions. She was playing up on this team, and she was not at all overmatched.

Jordan Ackerman, 5'6”, OH, Kapaun Mt. Carmel, '26

Ackerman is arguably the best all-around player in this group. She is enjoyable to watch and moves well laterally. She had nine serve receptions, three kills, and one dig. I would have liked to have seen her more involved in the attack game, but this squad has plenty of hitting options. Ackerman has a nice serve and can play six rotations.

Kynlee Sampson, 5'11”, MH, Andale, '26

Sampson is the tallest and most physical prospect on the Legacy squad. She can block and has a smooth approach. She plays with composure and does a nice job of adjusting to an imperfect set or out-of-system ball. The Andale prospect finished with three kills and played front row only against the Crush.

[player_tooltip player_id='623139' first='Camryn' last='Hays'], 5'2”, DS/L, Kapaun Mt. Carmel, '26

Hays is a sneaky good libero who is willing to sell out to get to a ball. She made consistent first passes in the match I watched. She racked up nine serve receptions, six digs, and one kill in the final pool play match.

The Kansas Networks Volleyball Club is hosting a tournament on February 17 and 18.
