How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I love chasing the block down pin to pin. Running a slide is probably one of the top ten most fun things to do, second to blocking an OH! I would say my style is aggressive with well thought out hits going for that 10’ line.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I’m definitely a cognitive athlete. I internalize before games often watching reels of hitters that I want to block.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I was the Freshman Class ASB President, currently serve on ASB Executive Board.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
Leadership from ASB, planning and multitasking being a student athlete, and helping my Dad with Firefighter Cancer Support fundraiser.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I started my school season as a MB and was moved to OPP during middle of the season because we needed the blocking, and then went back to MB for playoffs. One match I played OH, MB, and RS including a 6 rotation (Finished with 9 kills that match.) It was challenging, but I want to help my team wherever my coach needs me.
What type of college are you looking for?
Looking for a medium sized college where I can finish my degree in 4 years, make great friendships with my teammates, and win a championship at next level!
💡 Game You’re Proud Of The part of my game I’m most proud of right now is my blocking and my ability to be effective at the net. I’ve been working a lot on my footwork, timing, and reading hitters, which has helped me become more consistent and disruptive defensively.
📲 Why This Post Mattered Being featured on PrepDig California was very meaningful because it recognized the progress I’ve made and encouraged me to keep working. Social media visibility has helped my recruiting by allowing coaches to see my game and follow my development. I created the post to showcase my growth and stay proactive in my recruiting journey.
🧠 What Coaches Should Know I want college coaches to know that I am…committed.
I am hardworking, coachable player who gives full effort every day and is always looking to improve. On the court, I take pride in being dependable and bringing positive energy to my team. Off the court, I am a kind, supportive, and loyal person who values relationships. I try to be a good friend, bring humor and positivity to those around me, and always be there for my family and teammates when they need me.

Ruby was on fire during the hitting drills, making it look easy with some seriously strong swings to the sharp left and right sides of the court. Her swing is quick, fast, and super efficient, allowing her to consistently beat blockers before they even have a chance to get set. She did a great job of hitting around one-on-one blocks, which helped her maintain an impressive hitting percentage throughout the team games. But it wasn’t just about attacking—Ruby also racked up some key blocks herself. She was always in the right place at the right time, following the setter and being ready for the quick set, no matter where the setter received the pass along the net. Her focus and work ethic were unmatched, making her one of the hardest-working middles at the showcase. It’s no surprise that she earned a well-deserved top performer award! –Kantessa @lasvegasvbanalyst @prepdignv
