Continue ReadingThe USAV GJNC aka Nationals is rapidly approaching, and we’re highlighting the bidded teams and players representing Nevada at the tournament. Nationals will take place in Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay Convention Center from July 3-11. I am thrilled to witness over 20 talented local teams competing. Having watched many of these players throughout the club season, I’m excited to see some familiar faces and meet new ones.
I’ve compiled an analysis of each team in the 14 USA and 15 USA divisions, highlighting the standout players from the season. I expect to discover even more exceptional talent at Nationals and will share those names with you. Without further ado, let’s dive into the teams.

Vegas Aces 14UA is the only team representing the 14 USA division from Nevada. This team is full of talented players from the classes of 2027 and 2028. I expect this group to be highly competitive throughout the tournament. They secured their National bid at the Red Rock Rave qualifier in Las Vegas, NV.
Boyana Pesic is a versatile player and a threat on front row, doubling as a setter or pin hitter as needed. She’s a consistent setter, good blocker and a strong hitter. Emma Crane,

are three of the team’s strongest pin hitters, often the go-to on many sets. Emma has great energy on the court and knows how to find the open spot on the floor, whether attacking front row or back row. Hitting around the block or through the hole of a block hard to zone 6. Julia has a great swing and great serve that helps the team score several points from her alone. Bryn is also very skilled, adding back row attacks to her list of things she can do well. She is a versatile player that can also play outside or opposite as needed for the team. Madison Anderson and is one of the main middles for the team and she is a standout. Madison is a six-rotation player that contributes big to the team with her skilled hitting, blocking, serving and digging. She is one of the best middles in her class.
Isabella Harmon

is the team’s libero and she puts in work on backrow. Covering teammates, accurate serve receive passes and passing dimes on defense has been consistent for her all throughout the season. Many of these talented players play multiple positions for the team. I will get a chance to check out more of the teams key players during Nationals.

Record (AES): 37-18
Top Flight Volleyball Academy 15-1 is the sole representative for Nevada in the 15 USA division. This team is stacked with multiple talented players in every position. They have had some very impressive finishes at several tournaments, earning their National bid at the Lone Star Classic. I foresee this loaded, energetic team going very deep in this tournament, including a strong chance of making it into the championship bracket.

is one of the best setters I’ve seen at her age. The class of 2028 player is very consistent at setting her hitters right on the money. She boasts a great serve and is a player her team can consistently rely on. #4 ranked 2026

are elite hitters way ahead of their time. They are two of the best pin hitters in their respective classes and proving to be true six-rotation players. Beckham primarily plays outside hitter and defensive specialist. She has a rapid, strong arm swing but also plays smart with well-timed tips or off speed shots. After rotating to back row, you get a great server, DS and an additional attacker. You get the same elite talent with Taylor, however the lefty primarily plays right side. Anderson uses her high vertical leap to beat blocks and can kill the ball often near or in front of the 10 foot line. Not to mention, she effectively tallies up blocks against her opponents best outside hitters. When these two are on backrow, their opposite pins

and Sienna Gostanian play a big role on back row, relieving the middles. They are very committed to making the best past possible pass for their setter. Emma is very agile and always moving, which allows her to cover a ton of court quickly and more efficiently. Sienna also does a good job of controlled serve receive and passing dimes to the setter off hard hits or hits that play off her team’s block. This team is electric and will be a very exciting watch at Nationals. I’m excited to see a few new faces in action on this team as well.
