I’ve scouted Elbert since she played with our oldest daughter in club a few years ago. She’s made great progress with her consistency and expanded her game to become a sound overall volleyball player. Fully capable of running the show at setter, the Golden Hawks utilize her in other positions with their current roster makeup. That includes a lot of work at the opposite pin. There, Elbert ranks among Wahlert leaders with 21.0 blocks. She’s also chipped in 20 kills. With reduced roster sizes in college, Elbert’s ability to fill multiple roles as a utility player should fit in plenty of programs.

I’ve witnessed Elbert’s improvement watching her in club the last two years. She’s prepared herself for what should be an opportunity for a bigger role for a Wahlert program hit hard by graduation. Elbert is experienced at setting and hitting opposite pin. It’s a skill set that also would work on the outside. Elbert has improved the most as a hitter since the last club campaign. Better consistency is getting the ball down is the main reason. Learning to make the makable plays, Elbert plays to her strengths and doesn’t try to do too much.
