Starting strong, we have Mia Walker Mia Walker OH IA from Iowa Select. This 6’1 OH turns heads the second she walks on the court. Walker brings another level of intimidation by not only towering over most of her opponents, but also by having a freaky-fast arm and amazing vertical that play to her advantage. Not only is she an asset at the net, but she also knows how to get it done in the back row, doing an exceptional job of reading her hitters, getting her feet to the ball, and working to make herself available for the pipe ball.

I happened upon Walker’s court when the snow was flying during January in Milwaukee. The tall, long-armed outside hitter was hammering away with a heavy swing at overwhelmed opponents in her age group. The block also was imposing. Skill and agility were present when defending in the back row. I was interested to see how Walker would perform at the USAV Nationals against stronger competition. She did super well and stood out among the top players on her court throughout the tournament. It was a break out on the club level with one on the prep scene not far behind.

I wrote about stumbling upon Walker and her teammates at the JVC Winter Classic during MLK weekend. She stood out among a strong collection of talented volleyball players. Walker is tall for her age. On top of that, long arms make her even more imposing as a two-way performer at the net. She’s a good athlete with agility, moving well laterally and exploding off of the court. Walker flashes an impressive vertical leap and a heavy swing. Her block is very effective and her court sense keen. I’m just getting around to see 14 clubs for 2026, but it’s hard to imagine there are many more impressive players than what I saw from Walker.
