This squad earned its GJNC spot through MEQ and got off to a quick 4-1 start in Las Vegas.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Round 2 threatened to derail this momentum as 15 Black dropped its first Wednesday contest against AZ Sky. That match went to a third set, which turned out to be important later. [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] recovered by sweeping MARIN and earning first place via a set victory tiebreaker. Sometimes, minor details can make or break a tournament.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Another resilience was on deck as VCN faced an early deficit in its challenge match against 1United. 15 Black mounted one of its many comebacks to swipe the three-set win and clinch a podium spot. A deuce third set against Manhattan Mayhem narrowly kept VCN out of the title match, but this squad had an unforgettable impact on the 15 Liberty race.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We'll also close out the discussion on <strong>Premier Nebraska 14 Black</strong>, which battled to the quarterfinals in 14 American. This division featured a seven-match gauntlet in which 14 Black posted an impressive 5-2 record. Four of these five wins came in straight sets.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This trend continued in the crossover round. Premier Nebraska had to navigate two challenge matches to reach Gold but staved off elimination both times. NPJ Salem and HEAT were quickly dispatched, putting 14 Black in the final eight.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A top-five finish sets the foundation for a lot of future success. It's time to learn more about these 2028s.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">The 15s Map</span></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>2024 was a busy year for Nebraska's 15s--just look at all the Great Plains representation at GJNC.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We have a lot of film to review from Nebraska's trio of 15 Open representatives. <strong>Premier Nebraska 15 Gold</strong> and <strong>[program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 15 Elite</strong> both endured wild opening rounds to reach Gold pools. The final narrative from 15 Open will be the West Coast influence in the final bracket, but don't overlook these Midwest contenders. A shoutout is also due to <strong>Nebraska Elite 15 Revolution</strong> for picking up a pair of impressive sweeps over HPSTL and Circle City.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Premier Nebraska 15 Black</strong> played above and beyond what its 5-5 record might show. This team had a laundry list of difficult matchups in 15 USA, including a challenge match against the division's top-overall seed. This squad saw dramatic finishes across the board and had a pair of 16-14 tiebreaker results in Thursday's Silver A bracket.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Premier Nebraska 15 Red</strong> tabbed a winning record in 15 Freedom and was propelled by a 4-1 opening round. We remember 15 Red's grind through the Great Plains Region Bid Tournament just to make the GJNC field, so this was a rewarding result.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>USAV Nationals also offered a fascinating test for <strong>South Central NE 15 Black</strong>, which had its own GPR comeback to reach the postseason. 15 Black found its late form with two 15-13 tiebreaker triumphs against 540 and Premier EDGE. This central Nebraska club is becoming a GJNC fixture across the age spectrum, and we can't wait to see more.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline">Who's Next?</span></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here come the 14s.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Great Plains Region got its Open representative in <strong>Premier Nebraska 14 Gold</strong>. This up-and-coming crew battled to late wins over OP2 and AZ Storm while giving us a small glimpse at Nebraska's incoming freshman class. We hope to see a few of these names pop up at our upcoming Freshman Showcase!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We had South Central NE 14 Black in our crosshairs for much of Wave 2. It was hard not to notice this team's roaring start in 14 Freedom, culminating in a 5-0 opening round. 14 Black then broke into the challenge round after sweeping Club Solano in the Round 2 finale. The team was tripped up in the crossover battle, but 14 Black appears to be another future mainstay in the Great Plains Region race. Future prep gems are all over this roster.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] 14 Elite</strong> had a 14 National journey nearly identical to South Central NE's path. GJNC started with a perfect 5-0 Round 1, and [program_tooltip program_id='428743' first='VCNebraska' last=''] didn't drop a set, either. MKE Sting dealt the first blow to 14 Elite in Wednesday's opener, but 14 Elite pushed past Ultimate Asics to stay alive.
