Everyone is practicing hard to solidify their lineups in order to chase the ultimate prize, a State Championship. Let's take a closer look at who is standing out for these teams on the rise.

Byron Nelson Bobcats

The Bobcats are led by two absolutely dominant left side attackers in [player_tooltip player_id='253981' first='Ashlyn' last='Seay'] and [player_tooltip player_id='320954' first='Kylie' last='Kleckner']. They are killing the ball at a very high clip right now and look hungry to score from the pins. Ashlyn has really come into her own this past club season and has not slowed down as the school season has started. She has a cannon for a right arm and also has an eye for open zones. Kylie can flat out score from any location at any time that her squad needs her to. Miss Kleckner is a prime time athlete who knows exactly what it takes in order to play all the way around at a high level. Opposing defenses will have no breaks as each of these elite attackers take turns moving into the front row every three rotations. Super sensational stud sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='534307' first='Sophee' last='Peterson'] is the quarterback of this high-octane arsenal. She plays like a seasoned veteran even though she only has one varsity season under her belt. Miss Peterson is no stranger to the high level as she is a setter on one of the most prolific club teams in her age group. The back row duo of senior libero Emily Housknecht and sophomore libero [player_tooltip player_id='433638' first='Kaitlyn' last='Francis'] do a great job of keeping the offense flowing with their stellar ball control. They are doing a fantastic job of complimenting each other very well on defense and in serve receive. Senior middle blocker Rayvyn Thomas leads the way at the net on defense. She patrols the net very well and provides some awesome stopping power while blocking. Lexi Proctor has been a solid contributor on offense for this squad on the right side. The sky is really the limit for this team as they have a ton of tools that can take them for a long run in the playoffs. We hope you will be watching them like we will.

Harlan Hawks

This squad has been on the cusp of breaking through for a State Championship for the past few years. Could this be their year? It just might be. Last season they went 44-6 and also undefeated in their district. They return a lot of their starters and also have some new blood who can take them over the top. It all starts with the two amazing setters [player_tooltip player_id='212741' first='Isabella' last='De La Rosa'], [player_tooltip player_id='225200' first='DaMya' last='Mann'] and stud libero [player_tooltip player_id='212735' first='Brooklyn' last='Vigil']. Every championship volleyball coach knows that the two positions you need the most on championship teams are your setters and liberos. While everyone looks at the end result of the kill, these positions often get overlooked. Both setters are super strong in every skill set and have tons of experience playing at a high level. They are snipers with the ball in their hands no matter what location or tempo they are aiming for. So far this season, the coaching staff has been tinkering with lineup options and moving players around to get the best out of them. With the versatile hitters that they have, the lineup options are endless. DaMya has been hitting some out of the middle when she is in the front row and pins switch constantly while in different serve receive rotations. They made a sensational run through the vaunted Pearland tournament this past weekend and put the whole state on notice that they are back and better than ever. Senior [player_tooltip player_id='182108' first='Thalia' last='Yancey'], junior [player_tooltip player_id='318144' first='Jaci' last='Hall'], Senior transfer [player_tooltip player_id='245370' first='Britton' last='Finley'], and super sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='411591' first='Nailah' last='Randle'] are dicing up the defenses at the net. Britton is a highly touted pin who can throttle the ball and now that she is fully healthy, she might be just what this team needs to get them over the hump in the playoffs. Thalia and Jaci are high-flying athletes who are not afraid of anyone. They can both light up the stat book in a hurry. Miss Randle might be the most intriguing as she is a superb athlete who has enormous potential in the sport. We think this squad has what it takes, but only time will tell. We will for sure grab our popcorn and watch the show!
