2025s That WERE the Beasts in the Northeast

The Beast of the Northeast was one of the opening tournaments this weekend. And I will tell you, the class of 2025 brought it to the Champion Center this weekend. Seeing how these rosters are shaping up and who is rising to the occasion is always fun for us as writers.   Here are some 2025s who were the Beasts in the Northeast this past weekend.    Lima was super springy and had a lot of length and reach to apply to her attack. She finds the split in the block and exposes it with a fast swing. Lima is smart and uses a number of different shots.     Parker was showing off her versatility and playing some backrow and taking a lot of swings from the pins as well as the middle. She works the angles really well and she works deep corners like a pro. Parker sees the block in front of her and works around it so well.     Geiss was running a 5-1 and doing a good job getting the tight passes and running something quick with her middles. She shows off her defensive prowess when she digs a hard swing down the line with ease. Geiss is aggressive and really stepped into a leadership role in her senior season.     Kraege is aggressive at the net and challenges anything that tries to cross. Her timing is phenomenal and she seems to have a nose for the ball as a blocker. Krage may even be considered "the gate keeper".     Lang is a big jumper and she packs a serious punch with her fast armswing. She doesn't hesitate to swing down the line from the right pin and go after the libero. Lang has a great vertical and consistent solid contact on the ball.     Marquardt has a really high contact and she hits a really nice line shot. She powers the ball through the blockers if she doesn't see an opening around the block. Marquardt will also set and she has super soft hands and can run a quick tempo offense.     Grisolono can hit a really smart deep line shot and knows how to work different angles. She can take a difficult shot down the net with the tight inside ball. Grisolono can also hit the deep cross corner, putting a team into a scramble.     Lambrecht does as great job speeding up her approach to the ball. She also utilized a super smart deep line tip at just the right times. Lambrecht is competitive and can execute at the net.     Kreider is really athletic and she has nice hands on the ball. She moves the ball around quickly from pin to pin and isn't afraid to go against the flow. Kreider was consistently jump setting from 15-20 feet off the net. She is also a really solid attacker from either pin and will power through the block if needed.     Larson does a really nice job feeding the hot hand on the team. She can also hit a tough line shot from the right pin. Larson has really solid fundamentals and partnered with Kreider there is a lot of potential for the Kingsford group this season.     Danen simply flies on the pins. She has an aggressive approach, high contact point, and fast armswing usually going over the block. Danen has the height, court awareness, and she does a nice job of giving herself plenty of space to work at the net which isn't always easy when transitioning from being a middle blocker.     Shields is a true swiss army knife for Newman Catholic. But this is a staple for a small school like Newman in order to be successful. She creates great angles in serve receive and moves the ball around quickly as the setter. Shields knows just when to call her own number and when she is in the front row she hits from the pins. She's got this tricky roll show down the line or snags the deep cross court corner. I don't think there is an open spot on the court that is safe from Shields.     Otto takes a really hard swing on the ball. She can hit a wicked cross court but also isn't afraid to hit down the line. Her line shot has actually gotten really consistent as she's found the right balance in power and placement.     Magnin used a deep serve to push the serve receive back and cause hitters trouble in transition. As an attacker she is springy and smart with her swing. Magnin will pursue balls in a chaos play and when she swings she makes a nice high contact.     I love how far Ihle has come as a player. She is a lefty with a really high contact point and a fast armswing. Ihle also puts up a monster block that will make attackers nervous.
