Expert Analysis
Mike Bryant | Prep Dig Scout
Walcott is the real deal as a pin and she performed well as expected. As her abilities are gaining more and more attention, it is key to focus on the fundamental tools she has in her arsenal. She uses a big runway and clear slow-to-fast footwork to drive herself off the court to a big touch point where she can get ahold of the ball to score over blockers, through space, or to challenge the top off the defense at the net. Her arm is as sound as it gets with her torque action through which she can bounce the ball. The current top prospect in this WA 2028 class, it will be fun to see her compete over the next few months with the big lights upon her skill set.

Walcott was impressive playing for her Issaquah squad; she battled hard against state champion Lake Stevens and 6th-place finisher Puget Sound. Walcott is effective from the pipe and the pin and has the fundamentals, length, and frame to continue adding arm speed to her swing and strength to her overall game.

Walcott possesses the size and smooth athleticism that project nicely for a college-level pin hitter. At 6’1″ with a good wingspan, she plays six rotations and has a whippy arm swing that will only get stronger with age and work in the weight room. Walcott can rise and hit over the block, or rip a hard angle to terminate a point- she already has a feel for how and where she can score.

Walcott is a long, lean, and skilled prospect. She is confident when hammering a rocket out of the back row and is willing to attack the block and power through it for a kill. The Issaquah freshman is playing six rotations for Sudden Impact and is holding up well defensively and in serve receive. Walcott has the frame to keep adding strength; she is one to watch moving forward.
