On September 14, Lansing High School hosted the 30th Annual Lansing Invitational.

I scouted two early matches. The first match I watched was a two-set Blue Valley Southwest victory over Spring Hill in Red Pool action.

Here is a report on prospects who looked impressive during the Timberwolves' win over the Broncos.

[player_tooltip player_id='173370' first='Kaylee' last='Tingey'], 5'9”, DS/L, Blue Valley Southwest, ‘25

Tingey is ranked No. 92 overall by Prep Dig and has verbally committed to BYU. She is an uber-talented defensive player and I saw why a Big 12 team would go after her in the early morning match. She finished with nine digs, nine serve receptions, and one kill in the win. She is completely willing to sacrifice her body to get to tough attacks. She made consistent first passes keeping her team in system during the match.

[player_tooltip player_id='472938' first='Hailie' last='Vaughn'], 6'0”, OH, Blue Valley Southwest, ‘26

Vaughn is ranked No. 23 overall by Prep Dig. The junior has verbally committed to play for Princeton University. When the time comes, the Tigers will be getting themselves a six-rotation talent on the New Jersey campus. Vaughn was all over the court during the win over Spring Hill and was a bona fide stat monster. She completed the match with seven kills, six digs, nine serve receptions, three blocks, and one ace. She is quick and elevates well.

[player_tooltip player_id='222092' first='Willow' last='Weninger'], 6'1”, RS, Blue Valley Southwest, ‘26

Weninger is ranked No. 6 overall by Prep Dig in the class of 2026. She is a powerful attacker with a quality serve. She had five kills in the win over Spring Hill. I like her physicality and she plays with a bit of a mean streak. She will have to have a big season to remain ranked in the Top 10.

[player_tooltip player_id='493461' first='Sydney' last='Buscher'], 5'10”, S, Spring Hill, ‘25

Spring Hill's Buscher is ranked No. 34 overall in the class of 2025 and is verbally committed to Washburn University. She is a six-rotation athlete who can set, hit, and play solid defense. She constructed a stat line including four kills, four digs, and two blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id='483949' first='Brooke' last='Beashore'], 5'6”, DS/L, Spring Hill, ‘27

Beashore had the best match I have seen from her to date. She is a springy defensive specialist for Spring Hill. He finished with four digs, three kills, and two blocks. She is someone who can play six rotations if needed. She jumps well. If she were a couple of inches taller she would be a legit hitting option. Right now I see her as more of a utility player at the collegiate level.

[player_tooltip player_id='536308' first='Haedyn' last='Lynnes'], 5'5”, DS/L, Spring Hill, ‘28

I might not ever remember how to spell Lynnes' first name correctly, but I won't forget how she plays the game. She is a defensive wizard and started for Spring Hill as a freshman. She is currently ranked No. 18 overall in the Kansas Class of 2028 and is the No. 1 ranked libero. She finished with nine digs and nine serve receptions in her first match of the day. A ton of things can happen over four years, but I do not doubt that she is a Division I libero in the making. Whoever owns the Spring Hill record for digs in a season and over a career better enjoy it while they have it. Lynnes could break all kinds of records for digs when her high school career is completed.
