Marin Catholic Wildcats

While most sports enthusiasts will agree that having senior-led experienced teams is one of the best things a coach can have, sometimes all you need is a gun-slinging youngster who is not afraid of the spotlight. Fantastic freshman Carolina Delaney is a true superstar who will not be denied for the Wildcats. She has been killing it from the pins and is poised to have a wonderful high school career. While everyone will be enamored with her six foot two frame, volleyball purists will like how she can do it all on the court with ease. This comes from her awesome club coaches and amazing beach volleyball action she also enjoys. It keeps her very well rounded and explosive in every aspect. Krystal Rose Huff is a tall and strong pin who has the power to go through any block. The talented lefty can reach very high and move very well on the court from the opposite position. Junior middle blocker [player_tooltip player_id='542473' first='Chloe' last='Allcroft'] is a high flier who is a member of the famed ten foot club, meaning she can touch ten feet in the air with her approach jump. Her long arms will give anyone fits as she contacts the ball at the true peak of her reach. She is a load to handle out of the middle and opposing middles better be timing her correctly, otherwise she will make them pay. Setter Rania Brody leads this army into battle and is extremely quick around the court. Her court savvy can be seen as she scores on very sneaky setter dumps. I love the way she is able to push the ball to both pins when out of system. Super sophomore libero Sierra Elllison runs the back row for this squad. She also is a stud at beach volleyball and it has helped her footwork all around the court. This team is proving to be a force in Cali and should be watched moving forward.

Thousand Oaks Lancers

This sensational squad only has one defeat this year and they have been very impressive. They are led by junior outside hitter London Halvorsen. The lengthy pin is a hard out for anyone. It doesn't matter which pin she is hitting from as she contacts the ball extremely well with her entire hand and can control it very well. Her last second whip of a wrist snap adds so much pop into the attack and it can tool the block really well. Her younger sister, freshman middle [player_tooltip player_id='537526' first='Saylor' last='Halvorsen'] is making a big name for herself already at this early part of the season. The six foot one phenom could easily be one of the best players to play at Thousand Oaks if she continues at her current pace. She uses every part of her muscles to get up quickly off of the ground and throttles the ball like she is a seasoned senior. She is able to play middle and outside if need be at a very high level. Junior outside hitter Leah Curtin is another solid attacking option for this wonderful team. Senior opposite Addison Evans has proven to be a weapon when used this year. Junior setter Hailey Lauritzen and senior setter [player_tooltip player_id='538046' first='Reagan' last='Maguire'] are two capable drivers who will keep this team in every match with their hands. We will be watching them closely and hope they can keep up their winning ways for the rest of the season. Stay tuned for more soon.
