Please officially welcome Miss Halvorsen to the State Rankings. She is currently ranked as the 23rd best overall prospect in the 2028 Class according to our Prep Dig California State Rankings. She currently plays at Thousand Oaks High School and also for the San Gabriel Elite volleyball club. Saylor checks a lot of boxes the moment you see her step on the court, starting with her 6’2″ frame and explosive athleticism on the pins. Her approach jump is eye-catching, as she gets up quickly and contacts the ball at a high point, allowing her to score cleanly against set blocks. What really separates Saylor from many hitters in her class is her ability to stay on the floor for all six rotations and contribute meaningfully in each one. She has developed into a reliable passer and defender, which gives her coaches flexibility and trust in late-set situations. Over time, she has grown into a true go-to option when matches tighten up, embracing the responsibility of taking big swings under pressure. Her offensive toolbox continues to expand, and she can score in a hurry when she finds rhythm. Everything about her game is trending in the right direction as a complete, high-level pin attacker. Please help us congratulate her on earning a spot amongst the top players in our State Rankings.

She has become known for her ability to lead through composure, connection, and positivity, qualities that make her one of California’s most recruitable sophomores.
Reflecting on the recognition, Saylor shared, “Thank you to the AVCA! It’s pretty cool to be recognized as a sophomore, especially with so many committed juniors and seniors on the list. , a outside hitter, came into the SCVC and Mizuno Long Beach College Camp with a clear focus on growth. One of her biggest takeaways was the importance of showing confidence on the court. “You need to be confident in what you’re doing,” she shared. “If you’re not, they’ll most likely think you’re nervous, and there’s no reason to be nervous. You just need to play your game, not theirs.” During short court drills, Saylor embraced the opportunity to lead through communication and connection, forming chemistry with new teammates and finding pride in being both a strong player and a supportive presence.
Heading into the upcoming high school season, Saylor’s goal is to become a more confident player and to help create a positive team dynamic. She noticed that confidence, or the lack of it, can affect the tone of a game, and she wants to be someone who lifts others up. “It will rub off on other players and make the whole game so much more enjoyable,” she said. With her competitive mindset and growing leadership, Saylor is preparing to take on her next season with both purpose and presence. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247

, an outside hitter from
Sports Academy
15 Premier, is looking forward to the unique experience that the UA Next Volleyball Camp offers. For her, the most exciting part of the showcase is the chance to meet new players, form connections, and see how different personalities and playing styles come together. She’s curious to see how she fits in with athletes she’s never played with before and views it as a chance to grow, both on and off the court. More than just competition, she sees this camp as an opportunity to turn opponents into future teammates and social media followers into real supporters.
For Saylor, being invited to this camp is a meaningful reminder that all the hard work she has done outside of regular practice is being recognized. The extra hours in the weight room, the ice baths, and the private lessons are all part of the investment she has made in her development. Receiving this invitation feels like a reward and confirms that her dedication is starting to show.
If given the chance to bring a teammate, Saylor would choose

15 Premier, is excited to showcase her hitting at the Pacific Northwest Qualifier. She plans to bring her best performance by visualizing great plays, swinging for angles, hitting high off the hands, and demolishing the ball when there’s no block up. This season, Saylor’s game has evolved significantly, especially since this is her first year playing outside hitter. She’s been working hard on swinging with more power, hitting from different angles, and improving her passing, a skill she finds the most challenging but works on constantly.
What will stand out to coaches is Saylor’s leadership on the court. She constantly encourages her teammates to play their best and emphasizes that success comes from working together, not just individual achievements. When she scores a kill, she makes sure to give credit to the passer, setter, and her teammates for their contributions in making the play successful. Saylor’s focus is on team effort, and her positive energy fuels the entire group’s performance.
Off the court, Saylor enjoys spending time with friends, baking, and doing her nails. A fun tradition with her team is having a dance circle before games to bring the energy and get everyone hyped up. ~ Michelle Bamford @Coachable247
