Miss Nunez may measure in at 5’9″, but she refuses to let size define her impact on the court. Currently ranked No. 108 in the 2027 class, she showed at the Tour of Texas Dallas Stop that she is trending upward and due for a bump in the next update. What immediately jumps out is her speed as she is dynamic in transition and explosive on her approach, getting off the floor quickly and attacking with confidence. She swings aggressively and without hesitation, regardless of the size of the block in front of her. That fearlessness makes her a tough matchup because she never backs down from big moments. In the back row, she defends like a libero, showing strong ball control and a willingness to lay out to keep rallies alive. Her serve-receive platform is steady, and she does a great job delivering hittable balls to her setter to keep the offense in rhythm. Teammates clearly trust her in every rotation, and that trust is earned through consistent effort and competitive fire. Mia plays the game with relentless energy and she does not take points off and simply doesn’t know how to give up on a rally. She leads through example and intensity, and programs at the next level looking for grit, production, and culture impact should absolutely keep her on their radar.

Mia wasted no time showing just how dynamic and valuable she was on the court. She filled numerous roles during the showcase. I was most impressed during the scrimmage portion of the showcase, where she was playing out of right back and on the right side. She took numerous swings out of the right back and played successful defense as well. When she rotated into the front row, she was just as successful. Mia was willing to jump in where she was needed, and it benefited her by showing that she is a team player with a huge upside in her ability to play on both pins as well as out of the back row.

Wow, I just loved watching her attack out of the right back during game play. She was so incredibly efficient and smooth in the attack from start to finish. Nunez is a high-level freshman who has a very high reach, fast arm swing and someone geneterate a ton of power from behind hte ball.

Nunez was with the SA Elite 161 Navy team that finished second with four wins and one loss. A very technical player, she was a key piece in their playing system, delivering excellent production in many areas of the game. Despite not being extremely tall, Nunez was extremely efficient offensively, getting off the floor very well and putting the ball down at a very good rate from the left and the right, either hitting quicker or higher sets. The pin hitter was a key piece in the team’s serve-receive system and displayed an amazing top spin jump serve that generated many aces and free balls for her team.

Nunez helped her team SA Elite 161 Navy secure a third-place finish in the tournament with four wins and one loss. She formed a strong outside hitter duo with Leilani Lusia, which was one of the team’s main strengths. Nunez’s ability to get off the floor makes of her a very strong hitter, but she adds even more to a strong offensive game with powerful swings and impressive variation. She was very intelligent to score off of tips and tool the block when that was the best option. Nunez also handled her backcourt duties well, passing efficiently and playing solid defense.
