<p>Here are some of the top performances in Class 1 around the state during the last week of September. All the players below are from small rural schools, but they can play big-time volleyball.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='234466' first='Melanie' last='Rice'] – 5'7" – Outside – Galena</strong></p>

<p>Rice has taken on a much more significant role this season. During Galena's five-set loss to School of the Ozarks, Rice hit .224 on 76 attempts and had 29 kills. Melanie has been in double-digit kills in 26 of the team's 34 games.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='737677' first='Angel' last='Johnson'] – 5'7" – Middle – Clarkton</strong></p>

<p>In a win over Charleston during the Gideon Tournament, Angel hit .688% in the sweep, finishing with 13 kills on 16 attempts. Angel's season-high has been 24 in a five-set loss to New Madrid County Central. With 1254 career kills, her next milestone will be 1500 kills, which she is on pace to accomplish during district playoffs.</p>

<p><strong>Miranda Reiger – 5'8" – Middle – Mound City</strong></p>

<p>During last week's Hyvee Arena Tournament, Miranda hit .429 with nine kills in a sweep of Summit Christian Academy. Then she turned around against Guadalupe Centers Charter and hit a whooping .889 with eight kills on nine attempts.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='493074' first='Reagan' last='Howe'] – 6'0" – Middle – Oak Ridge</strong></p>

<p>The MAC commit has had a year, hitting double-digit kills in 17 of the team's 21 matches. Last week, during a loss to Woodland, she hit .667 with 14 kills. She would respectfully hit .520 and .350 during the next two games with 13 and 16 kills.</p>

<p><strong>Ashtyn Van de ven – 5'7” – Setter – Leopold</strong></p>

<p>Ashtyn has Leopold back in the playoff mix, and she is one of the best setters in the SEMO area. During the team's 3-1 win over Scott City, Ashtyn dished out 47 assists, matching her previous career high of 47 in a 3-1 victory over Meadow Heights.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='232323' first='Lexi' last='Lindsey'] – 5'6" – Setter – Winona</strong></p>

<p>Lexi has tremendous numbers for her career and still has a year to play. She has team #1 in Class 1 and passed 2500 career assists last week. In two sweeps last week of Lesterville and Couch, Lexi handed out 34 and 31 assists. Winona is in good hands with Lexi.</p>

<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='737706' first='Grace' last='Colby'] – 5'7" – Outside – Osceola</strong></p>

<p>Grace is having a season for the Indians in a win over Archie 3-2. Grace finished with 32 kills, hit .295, and had 20 digs and 11 assists, giving her a triple-double for the win.</p>

<p><strong>Olivia Sieve – 5'5” – Libero – Lesterville</strong></p>

<p>Olivia would finish with 18, 28, 25, and 25 digs during four games, helping the Bearcats go 2-2. In the loss to Meadow Heights, Sieve finished with 18 in a 3-1 win over Summersville; she had a career-high 28, 25 in a 3-1 victory over Bunker and a 0-3 loss to Cape Notre Dame finished with 25.</p>
