I picked Goodwin as one of the top performers in our December showcase and am looking forward to seeing which tools she’s added to her game since then. She’s a solid all-around outside hitter who delivers on both sides of the ball and typically plays a key role in the teams she plays for. Goodwin is an outstanding offensive player who uses her leaping ability and her length to make contact with the ball at the highest possible point and is very intelligent with her shot selection, getting to put the ball down in difficult situations and limiting her errors. She also has excellent ball control and performs her serve-receive and defensive duties at a very high level.

You can tell Savannah has spent a lot of time on her hitting mechanics. She has an incredible arm swing. She is a very aggressive player. She ensures the ball gets over the net. She does whatever it takes to keep the rally going. Savannah’s vertical jump is amazing. She flies in the air and positions herself way above the net. She hangs until the block falls and then takes the swing.

A state champion with Providence Classical a few weeks ago, Goodwin is another player I was somewhat familiar with, but was pleased to have an opportunity of watching more closely. Although her offense was probably what stood out the most during the event, Goodwin is definitely an all-around player, who can do it all on a volleyball court. She’s very long and uses every inch of her arms to make contact with the ball at the highest possible point and that gave her the edge, especially in out-of-system. Goodwin was very aggressive with her swings, but also very efficient and aware, keeping the vast majority of them inside the court.
