I've been scouring the 2028 class to see which players are making big-time impacts for their teams. From Class 1 to Class 5, the level of play in the 2028 class is impressive. Here are some newbies making their teams better with their play.

[player_tooltip player_id='729593' first='Shelbi' last='Mead'] – Setter - Eureka

When you are a freshman and get the chance to set up a team like Eureka, you know she will be talented. Shelbi runs a great offense with excellent hands and solid defense. The Wildcats keep turning out solid setters each season, and Shelbi will become a dynamic setter. If not a setter, I can see her becoming a tough libero.

[player_tooltip player_id='729597' first='Elise' last='Parker'] – Outside/DS - Eureka

Parker is making an impact for the Wildcats in her first season. Currently, she is primarily used as a defensive specialist, but her ability to hit on the outside will help keep her on the court. She provides her team with a solid defender and a back row outlet when needed—season-highs of five kills against St. Dominic and 15 digs against Incarnate Word.

[player_tooltip player_id='698690' first='Tatum' last='Moss'] – Outside/Middle - Mid – Buchanan

Tatum is having one of the best seasons for Mid Buchanan. She is the team leader in kills with 326 and is a six-rotation outside. She is versatile enough to play middle and, at 5'10”, puts up a big block. Don't overpass Tatum because she can pound the ball. Mark it now: she'll leave the Dragons program as one of the best.

[player_tooltip player_id='556998' first='Paisley' last='Hudson'] – Outside – Oak Grove

Paisley's play is one of the driving forces behind the Panthers having a great season so far. Her skills allow her to hit from anywhere on the court, and her attack point is way bigger than her listed 5'9”—a six-rotation outside with 178 kills and 183 digs. Paisley will turn into a beast at Oak Grove and has the highest hitting percentage of any 2028 in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='729434' first='Asa' last='Lasater'] – Middle – Lockwood

Little ole Lockwood has a baller on their hands in Asa. She led her team in kills with 314, 2nd in digs with 287, and is one of the top passers on her team. She has excellent bounce and a heavy swing. Asa has a solid slide already and will be deadly by the team she graduates.

Peyton Lasater – DS – Lockwood

Lockwood has a ton of youth on their team, and Peyton plays primarily as a defensive specialist who will take control of the defense next season. She's quick to the ball and reads the hitters well. In a five-set loss to New Heights, Christian notched a career-high 24 digs.
