Impact Underclassmen from the ECC

Three setters in the ECC eclipsed the 800 total assists mark, including Seni who was third overall with 813 for a 9.1 a/s average. She has a lot of potential to be a high impact setter with her size and skill set with a couple of seasons left in her prep career. Her size for this role led to 103 kills of her own, which complements what she can do in her distribution to get the ball in a good spot through both pins, on the move, and against the flow. Kings should return the bulk of their roster in 2025 and with Seni having another year to develop, this team could be the favorite to earn the ECC crown next fall.     Miracle, just a freshman, had the best offensive season of any first-year athlete in the ECC. She finished 8th overall in total kills in the league with 212 for a 2.6 k/s average. Milford finished 4th overall in the ECC standings behind the effort of two freshman prospects that produced a good portion of their offense. Miracle has a nice arm in the air and displays a lot of ability to swing through a broad range of the court with good purpose and control.     Mathes (*pictured) was the other half of this terrific freshmen duo for Milford, a team with many non-senior prospects that made it to the regional semifinal round. She finished just outside the top 10 in the ECC offensively with 181 total kills for a 2.6 k/s average. She is a fearless attacker and has a good foundation to get to the ball on balance and swing aggressively. Her action included opportunities at both pins in which she is equally effective to get the ball to the floor.     The West Clermont pin was the only sophomore attacker to finish in the top 10 in the ECC in total kills at 202. In this her first varsity season, she was utilized often and from a variety of attack points around the floor. In winning their first postseason match of 2024 versus league foe Walnut Hills, Row had one of her best outputs of the season with 18 kills and 17 digs, both team highs for that contest. She totaled 192 digs on the season.       Horsley had some big shoes to fill in the libero position for Kings after the graduation of one of the best in this role in the greater Cincy area, and with this program coming off of their DI state title run. She held her own though as she tallied 404 total digs, one of just three in the ECC to surpass the 400 mark. She creates good angles that start with her footwork and balanced position upon contact in serve receive. Her effort helped Kings to a 19-5 overall record in 2024.     Vernon was the most complete player for Walnut Hills as she improved her impact from her freshman season with more significant amount of opportunity to compete through, which she made the most of in 2024. The versatility of her skills contributed in a variety of ways as she concluded the season with 113 kills, 145 assists, and 141 digs for the Eagles.
