Apex NW 18 Empire has two junior middles; Eshius is one of them, and the 2027 prospect from Lynden Christian is a tough, athletic player at the net. She plays with a terrific feel for finding the gaps and keeping herself separated from the opposing middle. Eshuis has a snappy arm and good timing in front and behind her setter, and she has smooth control when she drops in a sneaky tip in front of defenders who are on their heels.

Eshuis is a talented multi-sport athlete with a short, snappy arm swing who gets up quickly to rocket down quick sets. Her basketball and softball talents translate nicely to the volleyball court- she gets off the floor quickly, particularly as a blocker. Eshuis uncorks a quick arm swing with plenty of power, but she has the vision to see when a spot opens up for a soft tip to drop in for a kill.

Eshuis has been a force for Apex NW 17 Summit this club season; the team had an outstanding run at Regionals, finishing second to Emerald Rain with a 5-1 overall record. A long 6’1″ sophomore from Lynden Christian, Eshuis has added an effective slide to her offensive bag and has started to put fear into defenders, pounding down kills on quick sets with authority. She has the vision to drop in tips for kills and makes decisive block moves to get out to the pins and put up a wall.

Eshuis is a long and active middle who plays bigger than her listed 5’11”. She uses her eyes to check the hitters and setters and gets a great read on where the ball is being set. Eshuis was a problem for Meridian attackers in the Sun Dome. She created points off of blocks and forced hitters to roll and tip around her block. Eshuis has been well coached; her blocking and transition footwork is sound, she covers hitters and can handle a second ball with her platform.
