In these positional breakdowns, I like to choose five middles from five different clubs around the state. Most of the time, I'm talking about kids that I haven't mentioned before. Today might be the exception. Here are five middles from around the state that each have their own way of being an exeptional middle.

I know I've mentioned her before, but Carsyn moving into the #1 slot on our rankings has its reasons. She is far and away the best middle prospect in the class of '27. Her attacks are quick and high, her defense is disciplined, and her volleyball IQ is through the roof. I remember watching her dominate play back in August at our Stock Up Showcase, but the setting she saw wasn't consistent from drill to drill. It didn't seem to matter, as Carsyn found ways to terminate regardless of situation or setter.

A recent transfer from Circle, Lila did a little pin attacking to go along with her middle play. I'm thinking she's staying more as a middle at Academy, as they have plenty of pins to go around. She's the only '27 on a team of '26s, some of which are already committed to play at the next level. Playing up an age should definitely help her recruiting prospects and see where she stands on the national level.

Long, lean and springy, Marley is a raw and strong athlete that hits the ball with a different sound than most attackers in this class. Her disadvantage is that she's not at a strong volleyball high school. This leads me to believe that whomever picks her up will have the steal of the class in her athleticism, high volleyball acuity and exceptional club training.

Every bit of 6'2", Avery is a hybrid attacker that has seen similar time on the right side as well as the middle. She did exactly that at our Top 250 Expo a few weeks ago, and even took the time to mention to me that she's more than willing to do both (or whatever's needed) at the next level. At both Penn and Pineapple, you can be sure that her size and skills are being used to her advantage. Still raw in some parts of the game, it won't be long before she puts it all together at the level of the kids in front of her on this list.

Not sure why the club name says "431298", but she's at Rev on the east side of Indianapolis. Kenley's athleticism sets her apart from other middles in this class, and she makes up for her apparent lack of size with an attack touch that is nearly ten feet RIGHT NOW. I like how she maximizes every inch of her attack touch when she plays, and she uses that jumping ability to block exceptionally well also.
