About Emma

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a someone that goes for anything, very scrappy, and very passionate about the game of volleyball.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I would say I’m an uplifting person, very happy and bubbly but when I need to be serious I can be.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am in National Honor Society and Student council, I have been on the A and B honor roll, I have been student of the month, team captain for my school volleyball team and club volleyball team.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve learned that being a captain is more than helping your team, it’s listening to them when they have ideas or when they are facing problems. Being a leader is about more than just helping people get to point B from point A. Helping others is as simple as not helping them, kindness is free and it can really change a person’s life.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I feel my biggest challenge has been injuries and mental blocks. Injuries are definitely a set back and can cause a lot of problems in the future if you don’t let them fully heal. Mental blocks are a tuff thing to get through especially when you come from one team that is not uplifting or motivating and then go to a team that is super motivating and uplifting.

What type of college are you looking for?

Something outside of Minnesota that focuses on the sport but also on the education
