About Collyns

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

All arms and legs, quick and intense yet bubbly, gritty, loud and energetic. I love to have fun, keep the energy going on the court and truly love an intense fast paced match.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I focus whole-heartedly on the game of volleyball and love anything to do with it! My main focus is always getting better, working harder, etc. and being the best player and teammate I can be! I am an outgoing type A hard worker who is lighthearted and loves to have fun on the court. I adore spending time with my little sister and family.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am involved in many honors classes at school, receiving awards such as Student of the Semester, Superior Honors (96% and above) every year of middle school (5th-8th) and many more academic achievements. I also play club basketball and plan to play in high school as well.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I've developed leadership skills from learning from older teammates and being the captain on my team. I have learned teamwork and leadership skills from many of my past and current coaches. I like to be a mentor to young volleyball players the way I have had some older players mentoring me.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I think all players experience some mental challenges in really tough games, learning to stay the course and on to the next play. One of the biggest challenges I have faced is just trying to learn how to lift my teammates up when they get down! I want them to believe in what they are capable of the way I believe in them.

What type of college are you looking for?

I imagine myself at a large school that will challenge and bring out the best player and person in me and is a great fit academically.

Kapaun’s Livermore hangs on to the top spot in the Class of 2029 rankings. She has been ranked No. 1 since I first saw her play club ball in early 2025. She had a solid start to her high school career, posting 298 kills, 217 assists, and 194 digs as a freshman. She played 92 sets for the Class 5A State Tournament Qualifying team. She also recorded 28 blocks and 20 aces for the Crusaders. Her versatility to play either hitter or setter is what gives her a slight advantage over the athletes ranked No. 2 and No. 3.
