Texas Setters to watch at the Sunshine Classic

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The club volleyball national qualifying season continues at full pace as teams from all over the country look to book their spots in the USA Volleyball Girls National Championship, which will be held in Dallas, between the end of June and the start of July.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This week, Florida will be the destination of many as the teams from around the country will be in action in the second week of the prestigious Sunshine Classic National Qualifier, at the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Many Texas teams will make the trip to compete in the Open divisions of the tournament in the 15s, 16s and 17s age groups and we'll preview the event by featuring some of the top Texas prospects who will be on the court, starting with the setters:</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["548605"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations":1,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"preview","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-67b8fc2710bdb"} --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"placeholder":"Add evaluation here...","className":"text-gray-700"} --> <p class="text-gray-700">Hicks and her TAV 15 Black Jason team will compete in the 15 Open division this weekend in Florida. Splitting time with [player_tooltip player_id='743783' first='Evann' last='Beville'] at the setter position, she has been one of the reasons for their strong season so far. A playmaker with fantastic technique, Hicks has an extremely clean touch on the ball and it's not rare to see it get to the pin without a single spin after it comes out of her hands. She's very accurate too and makes excellent decisions with her distribution, keeping all her hitters as much involved as possible. She's an amazing all-around player, who masters many different skills and has the ability to contribute to her team's play in several areas of the game. A technical and intelligent player, she does great work with her playmaking, setting extremely well against the flow and remaining accurate even in out-of-system plays. A six-footer, Coates also makes a major impact at the net, supporting the defense with her impressive blocking skills and eventually taking on hitting duties. Her team has some of the most talented players in her age group in Texas and the setter does an excellent job of enhancing their games with her solid playmaking. McCarrol's game is very smooth and she performs on the court with great efficiency, making the team's offense click with with a smart distribution and impeccable precision.
